WTF...? I got Warning Points From Mod In Training for This...

I sent a private message to a moderator in training (who I saw was interested in something from a post of his)

I asked the Mod if I am allowed to pitch him my idea or if this was against the rules and because of that I got 3 warning points ....?

This forum and community is great but I think the Mods need to relax

You sure you didn’t PM someone else something similar? That would be why, as mods can see who you have PM’d (to my knowledge). You can’t promote or sell things via PM.

You tried to sell via PM.

The MiT gave you a break and didn't give you a ban.

You can't sell on BHW, you can't sell via PM - both will get you warned and possibly banned.

BTW, a MiT is the same as any other staff member and if you think they are making "mistakes" due to being a MiT you are probably wrong as they are monitored like the rest of us Mods.

ive been here 10 yrs and pmd many mods admins
about something i wasnt sure about, never got 1 point

has to be something more to it.

never in 10 yrs have i heard, i pmd a mod and asked is
selling allowed via pm and been hit with 3 points for asking.

they would normally say no it isnt and if your caught doing it
then u get 3 points, 3 points arnt handed out for checking/asking first

surely you have to understand the fact that I asked the Mod on the PM if I am allowed to offer him something that he was actively interested in shows that I am not a “JackWagon”.

If I wouldn’t of asked if I am allowed then I guess you could of officially called me a “JackWagon”.

He could of answered my question and told me a straight up :

“No you are not allowed to do XYZ”

Instead he didn’t reply to my question and gave me points.

Oh well...

I rarely get mad but I do try to be fair enforcing the rules.

To be honest in my first few days on here I did act like a “JackWagon” (unintentionally )

But this time I wanted to prevent any JackWagoning from happening so i asked and still got punished .

but, be 100% sure your in the right.

example - i have all my pms going back to 2011 5-6k of them.
i had 1/2 unfair marks against my name , thankfully i had
the evidence to clear my name and issues was dealt with.

but ill say again do not pm apricot unless you believe your
100% in the right - that right/choice is yours to decide .

BTB, to be honest, some of the new mods do need to relax a bit.. I mean a few days ago I got a warning for posting a comment

saying "if you dont have the balls ill make the phone call for you and charge you $200 "

in regards to some social media marketing deal.. as a joke of course , got a warning because I tried to 'sell something' lol..

Not that I cared but just saying, especially when I provided a ton of value in that thread...

I don’t want to comment on whether or not you should get a beating as it would constitute mod abuse.

You cant just break the rules and write "not sure if it is allowed or not" at the bottom

But it’s a shame to see accounts banned for small things .

I have spent a few hundred dollars with freelancers from here in the last month and I am planning to spend more should my account not be banned .
