need a new accountant

My accountant is so nitpicky! Last year I went to a Florida convention with my wife who is on my business charge card. I had to take my kid with me because we didn't have a baby sitter. He says you can't do that... buy plane tickets and bought some meals. My wife is my 2nd employee and I took my kid. Anybody have experience with this?

what exactly do you mean with he cant do it? i guess its not possible to charge your kids ticket as business expense if you talking about this.

I used my Amex business card for myself, wife, and kid. Also, he noticed dinners on their. This guy looks over every business expense like he is jealous

You can use your business card for travel. Also, if your wife is a employee, she can use it for travel as well. You should use your kids travel on your personal card. Meals shouldn’t be a problem because they could be for clients.

Nah, he's not jealous he's being legit.
Is he having to sign his name on these accounts to the authorities etc? If so, he's covering his arse.
Keep in mind if you get an audit from the taxman, you run the risk of penalties / fines possibly.

Haha I know he's not jealous... he is making money all year round from me with book keeping . What expenses do you think warrants a fine/penalties?

In all honesty you need to speak to an accountant . They should be able to advise you what you can and cannot claim in advance.
In the UK these will be different to the US, even for things like claiming for meals etc.

I had the same accountant for a year and he always question business expenses haha

Last year I went on a trip with my wife and a guy talked to us for a few minutes and the waitress said he paid for our meals That was his business expense lol

He is not saying that. I have a personal credit card and a business charge card. When he has his book keeper going through my records, he looks at everything and questions me all the time like I'm fuckin him over. He saw I used my business charge card for my wife and kid when I went on a business trip last year. My wife is part of my business, so I can buy a plan ticket and hotel for her. I should of put my child airfare on my personal card I guess!?
