Idea for Affiliate Program money making

Hi! I'm very new here so I'm in no position to test this idea, but I thought it was pretty cool and I was wondering if people had been doing this or even if it works.

So one of the most used methods to make money is by using Affiliate Programs. You make a website about a niche, talk about it on social media, do some SEO optimization, and after a bunch of work you start getting people clicking on the products you're talking about, and selling them (that's the point at least).

But what if the product you're advertising is, in fact, yours? Wouldn't it be possible to get money both from the Affiliate Program as well as the actual sale? If so, why aren't more people doing this? - if you make an ebook or something more or less simple like that, it doesn't seem that hard.

Just picking my brain what do you guys think?

People doing this from ages but i am little confused. You will get money from your product and you pay some percentage to affiliates, basically vendor thing, check clickbank.

Yeah, but that is if your account for the affiliate program is the same as the one for your product. Thanks tho!

Yeah, I think every smart guy in the room does that.
But promoting your own affiliate offer, get paid by yourself and also paying the affiliate broker for the same, doesn't make much sense to me.
Instead of promoting it through an affiliate program, one must consider selling it directly unless the PR is low

It's basically the same, mate. You're not the first one to be doing that, in case you decide to go for it. It's actually a smart move for online marketers
