Do you use Web 2.0 to rank your website?

When you create Web 2.0, do you add an anchor text with your KW that you're trying to rank for or do you send them directly to your website by saying "Click Here" or visit "http://www.ow9j.com/"

Reason I'm asking is because I've heard that ranking for your exact KW via anchor text using Web 2.0 is not a good idea! Would love to hear how your thoughts! Thanks!

You better use web 2.0 with generic anchors and naked urls these days.

They do not carry as much weight as they used to, but are good for diversifying.

Also check the link profile of the first 3 websites, see what they do and use it as a guide.

But,
if web2.0's are not enough to rank for your keyword, which most likely is true especially with fresh web2.0's, you will need other links as well. Preferably powerful.
So you can use naked, brand, generic anchor text on your web2.0's and long tails, exact match keywords, partial match keywords on the powerful pages (pbns usually).

You don't want all your links with the same anchor text.
To get an idea of the % of exact match keywords as anchor text that you can use, check what % of KWs your competition is using. It should give you an estimation of what is safe.

Hmmm that's weird. All my pages with such long tail keywords in anchor text rank but those with generic or LSI (as mentioned above) don't rank. Have been using this for almost few months now. Although have worked only on 2 projects till date so I can be wrong.

Powerful? Well... not really. They help some, but don't expect to rank just with them. Pretty much the best free link that you can get all by yourself, excluding guest posts.

I use them as a foundation, yes.

Yes, we will use them for diversity. On page optimization with quality backlinks helps to improve your serp result. PBN, Guestpost, PR, WEB2.0'S, along with this
mobile page speed looks to be the next big ranking signal to focus on.

Everyone uses web 2.0. If you diversify your anchor texts enough and do things right, there's no harm.

It's pretty much been said - but although they are only a SMALL influence in and of themselves, and you won't rank on web 2.0's alone and Def not fresh ones, they are still VERY important to have in your backlink profile for link diversity...but yes long tails for sure as keywords/anchor

Hi Nargil And All,

The link you shared is for the past year 2017. Don't you think that this strategy is faded out or something. Placing naked urls and generic texts is categorized in the zone of negative SEO. I am also building web 2.0s( new) for my new website and I am placing anchor texts on long tail keywords to my money pages. Is that a good move? Also, I am planning to start with 5 PBNs.

Despite what people say, I still get great results with web2.0s, even with new ones, but in that case it can take them up to 3 months to kick in. However, all of them have a diversified link profile which I build with great care.

As for anchors, I use 1 exact match, 1 partial/LSI, and the rest are branded, naked or shortened URLs.
