Indeed he was brilliant but I have never liked how people treats him. He have great theories but last years, even last 30 years - only used his fame to make interviews, publications (some were nonsense) and university lessons. Look at student faces on most of videos - pity and admiration to his disability + genious.
I think we have even now great scientists, even greater than Hawking but in shadow because they haven't chair.
Don't get me wrong, we shouldn't say anything wrong about dead people but don't treat him like god, alfa&omega of science or second Einstein or Newton.

i respect stephen hawkins but i don't think that anybody who has made great contributions to science should be respected as god . science has brought nothing but misery .The more science we know the more evil we are becoming.

Science has given us a chance to live long, full lives. Science gives us an opportunity to go anywhere and do anything we want in our lives. Evil has existed since the beginning of time but this period right now is probably the tamest it has ever been. Many people are dealt a very bad hand but only now do they have any possibility of overcoming that disadvantage. Many won't, but it's possible. That's thanks to science.
Stephen Hawking devoted his life to the greater knowledge of mankind. He is no god, but how many of would just give up and die if we were confined to a chair and had to speak through a machine?
Finally, science can't be blamed for human behavior. The only actions we can control are our own.
