Advanced IMers use two monitors - WHY ??!!

Hello folks,

i've seen a lot of videos for advanced internet marketers talking about difrent stuff and the majority of them have two or three monitors, why the heck do they need three monitors ?? actually it looks so cool and it makes you feel profisional even if you don't i thaught that i may do like them some day to impress people ... but why do they need them any way ?

I have all my instant messengers & itunes on one, my browser one my middle one, and my stats & ultra edit on my other one.

Thats a 24" in the middle and a pair of 21" screens turned sideways on each side. When I build my new desk, I'll get bigger monitors for the sides.

I would've thought it was obvious. I have quad monitors and I'm not forever
opening and closing windows I can work on several things at the same time
and I can read data from one wondow while entering it in another.

As for the question by the OP.. the answer is simply to be more productive. If you have 3 monitors then you can literally be almost 3 times more productive and faster.

yeah thats all good, but ... Hmmm what kind of work can be done in 2 or 3 monitors ? give me exampels pelas, or to keep it easy for you tell me what have you done today with your multy monitors system ?? i still can't get the picture .

It's a better way of organizing your windows, you dont have to switch between them as much. You can also get neat addons for your windows so u can make some "always on top" and so on, also works extremely well for macros since you have a higher resolution to work with. Not only that but you can track several things at once, rather then going back and forth. Overall it's just a time saver worth the extra buck.

i need to get more, or at least hook up my laptop, when running senuke, I loose use of the computer screen.

other things are nice also, like having different screens or pdf's available without bringing them to the top all the time, and then getting your screen back, while remembering what you are doing.

yeah the pdf idea is great

left monitor - server connection via putty showing continues log and email
middle- browsing and primary workspace
right- instant msger , second browser if im reading somthing related to what im working on
plasma - my DVR. i usually have the news, stockmarket on during normal hours. tv at night when i need a break.. also TF2 at 52inchs = pimp.

I personally believe that multiple screens allows for higher productivity. I recently lost my second monitor (died on me) and it's been such a hassle. I'm gonna pick up another one in the next month or two, if not sooner. It's one of those things, that once you experience it you never go back.

i hav 3 monitors
with 2 pc

1pc 2 monitors for software warez,design , security purpose etc
1pc for login ,money things etc.

Because they can't afford a monitor big enough to have two windows in it. Trust me, I'm an advanced IMer and I know what I'm talking about.
Seriously, you can do all this stuff on 1 monitor and you wouldn't even have to move your head as much. What, you need a separate one for instant messaging? You're just showing off, pal. And you're getting spoiled, you damn kids!
But seriously, if you need more than 1 monitor, get it, but I don't see how any of you previous poasters even need an additional one.
A wise man once said "Too much information is quite likely one of the the worst things you can get". And perhaps he was right. But it there was one thing I learned is that you should keep things to worry about at the absolute minimum.
