Basically title, in need of a new router and looking for some recommendation!

I live in a flat and only 2 kids are going to use the WiFi and they're mostly used to watch YouTube videos, while I game on PC.

Whats a good router for this kind of situation? Not really a techie.

Was thinking of getting NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900, might be an overkill. Not sure.

Shoot me some suggestions, appreciate it!

To be honest if it’s a home setup just get a standard tplink, netgear or even a cheaper brand - don’t buy one for hundreds of $$$ it’s not worth it unless you need lots of features, crazy speeds or you are running voip or something.

I’ve often had customers buying the top end routers then end up returning them for cheaper models that were more reliable.

I'd never trade anything and give up my Nighthawk AC1900.

Ever.

Ever. Ever. Ever. Ever.

Personally I have a draytek vigor 2860 - very reliable router. But it would be overkill for typical home use.

Have a think about the type of house you have, like how thick are your walls, what distance you will be working at, you have a garden? and how many people will
be accessing the connection. Sometimes these more expensive routers give you alot more reliability and features too.
There are plenty of good amazon router reviews, I have a technology site, and have read many of the reviews,
they are one of the best reviewed products online I think, as the people that use them read all the technical features, and test them,
so before you make your decision get a nice shortlist together, and read their reviews for even an hour, and you'll surely pick the best one for you.

My neighbor swears by this one:

TP-Link Archer C7
More than adequate for most people's needs. Replace the firmware with LEDE or DD-WRT for KRACK vulnerability fix
