Making a porn startup. Opinions?

I'm considering starting a small porn studio. I've taken part in a porn shoot before, and realised that I could produce good content with just me and the girl, shooting in POV. I know that the best way to make money from this is to set up a paywalled site and have traffic go to it from Pornhub clips, like just like all the big players (Brazzers, etc.) do, but my problem is this: to open such a site I figure I would need at least 40 videos. How do I cover my costs until I'm able to reach that number? I've looked at Clips4sale and Onlyfans as options, but I wonder if they would be enough to cover the costs of the initial uphill battle, or if I would go broke before producing enough content for a proper site.

From my research, models charge anything between £300 for a complete amateur to £800 for some of the top stars. What do you think?

And maybe that doesn't buy you Phoenix Marie, or whoever's big these days, but certainly someone who can draw traffic only from their name. @Blakester : It's not a boyfriend-and-girlfriend thing. I'm going to be hiring actresses, which will be my main cost other than creating and keeping up the site, as well as some initial legal costs (don't want to end up in Her Majesty's Prison)

Well, I can't really answer that, since I think it really comes down to your own specific taste. The stats clearly show that there is massive demand for more-or-less vanilla porn. My niche will be strictly POV with girls from all over Europe.

Either UK or Germany. Uk has peculiar laws, so I would have to get in touch with an obscenity lawyer (Myles Jackman is the man for this). I live in the UK, which is why I was thinking that, but I also have German citizenship, so based on the greater freedom to make porn, and the whole Brexit thing (would I be able to hire EU models after Brexit? Don't know), I'm considering doing it in Germany.

Just a thought, but you could hire the studio out to people who want to record their sex scenes, for free as long as you retain the permission to upload
to the sites that pay you per porn video, and you could raise some capital via that method, while improving your video editing techniques,
and building up your portfolio.

At least you would have something to work with, if you planned on investing with someone,
they would be confident that you had a viable business opportunity, and you would have the system setup.

Excellent ideas. I think the autograph thing is particularly good, and really increases the potential price of the clips. £19.69 (love that) times 20 people could actually cover the fees of a lesser known model. In addition, I've noticed that most clips on Clips4sale are about 5 minutes long and cost like $5, and I'm aiming for 20-30 minutes videos, so that factors in as well. Upload a 6 minute video to pornhub and put a screen at the end that reads "go to.....for the full 25 MINUTE LONG video and sign up to get Jane Doe's panties!". I'm growing more and more confident that I can cover the costs for the early struggle.

What's this "maildrop service" wizardry though? I don't think I've heard of it.

Another thing I've decided is to take a short course on photography so I can take those glossy magazine-looking pictures myself and use them for banners and the sort when I set up a site properly.
