Hi guys,

Out of curiosity i wanted to ask do you guys eat chew able tobacco in your country ?

In my country India it is the number one form of tobacco intake . I know people in western countries smoke tobacco but i am talking about chew able tobacco aka "gutka" in Indian subcontinent .

i am also addicted to it but not that much .i chew around 1 packet of gutka in a day while working on my pc but the guy who works along me chews around 6 - 7 packets of it .Government is trying to ban it from decades now but still no success .

Some time ago an Indian company also tricked Pierce Brosnan to advertise for one of its gutka product . lol

This is a huge problem here and I find is surprising that even educated people do this. When I was in college, I helped a friend leave this habit. He also used to chew these a lot but left it completely by last year of the college.

One of my relatives who is a doctor also does this. Very surprising for me.

he he lol really speaking its quite relaxing to chew tobacco just cancerous in long term
I'm not familiar with it, why is it bad for health is it because of nicotine or something else?

this can ruin your teeth, just like smoking tobacco.

I've only ever known 2 people who told me they chewed tobacco: my eldest sister and a friend I had in high school.

My eldest sister chewed it once and didn't like it. My friend in high school would chew it on the bus and spit it into an empty water bottle.

Never thought it is available in developed countries.

My brother lived in the US and got into a habit of chewing tobacco, He gave me some to try, but I didn't like it.
Here in Poland chewing tobacco is not popular, but i remember a time where sniffing tobacco was popular in my school.

I tried it once but I didn't like it instead I preferred tobacco dip.
I've been nicotine free for a while now :)

Would never chew or smoke tobacco. It's debilitating on your health - in reality, you're paying to kill yourself.

That is one cool commercial. USA gets some funny commercials like that but this one takes the cake.

There's a subculture of people who take chew tobacco. Some to an unhealthy extent. It's called "dip" around here. Because you dip it into your lip. Not very attractive.

Yeah, you can get it here, although I think it's only popular as you head further East in the US. I know it was popular in Oklahoma back when I live there as well.

It's not at all popular here. There was a minor fad back in the day of snorting tobacco, but that went away really quickly and I've never known a tobacco chewer.
