Before i start i will say that i have no idea if this idea is actually possible to implement.
There should be a button for users to click when they see a post that is useless / spam and if enough people report a post it is deleted or hidden in a moderator review queue.
This would work on a weighted point system where the rank, post count, join date, and feedback of the accounts reporting a post are put into some equation vs the original posters reputation. If a certain threshold is met the post will be deleted/hidden.
This is needed and different from how moderators moderate the forums because mods only delete posts that are breaking the rules and not posts that are useless.
An example of the usage:
Sometimes new members go into threads and just rewrite previous comments to boost their post count and it really gets annoying.
Moderators will never be able to handle the mass amount of comments like this due to the size of the forum.
Obviously this will not work the same in the marketplace, so maybe not implement it there.
