AFAIK there is no way to avoid paypal fees with regular payments through paypal.

If get gift payment, that means the sender was a closure one or a family member to you so you have fewer options to fight the chargeback case if any chargeback is opened.

If service and Goods option, You have more ways to fight the case and win easily until there are any unauthorized transaction cases.

Ask buyer send as friends and family. If you and your buyer live in same country then paypal not charge fees

You can ask the buyer to cover the fess or simple price your service accordingly.

for independent sellers, as thats their bread and butter after ebay

I actually had somebody file a chargeback against a friends and family payment. There was the whole dispute process, but as usual with paypal and chargebacks the buyer was successful. Paypal charged me a fee, around $40 or something and tried to take it to collections within 3 weeks.

You should check out paypalsucks.com arm yourself with that PP knowledge so that you cover your ass as best as possible. With Paypal the buyer almost always wins.

This is definitely not true for US Paypal. I dont know how would it be in other countries, but this doesnt apply for US at all.

You can always use Friends and Family payment but not in a regular basis.

I think it's free if you pay with your paypal balance or bank account only.

Sadly I'm stuck with Paypal for all my side gigs. Even if it sucks, what sucks more is convincing your clients to use other payment methods. Paypalsucks is just an info site, you can get info and read stories about others experiences with PP disputes etc. Then you know how to cover your ass.

This is something im unfamiliar with too. You seem to know a lot of little tricks no Paypal even tho you dont like it! Thats some interesting facts right there
