Upwork is no longer Elance and Odesk?

Have you encountered the same way? This website is tough on accepting freelancer profile, I did constant revisions of my profile, but it leads to nothing. Any one here who are good in creating profile on Upwork then sell it to me. I need only affordable if possible the majority of the skills is SEO. Thank you.

Ya, I got the same message about a year back. They have too much service providers so they are mostly not entertaining new guys by sending over this crap message.

They will not accept you. You can keep trying for years. Upwork have pretty strict policy on new signups.

Don't know if I'm so lucky or whatever, but about 2 weeks ago I've registered on UpWork with no problem at all.. Accepted in like 2-3 hours I think.

got the same message, not accepted because there are too many graphic designers
but odesk doesn't stop and think for a minute to realize that all graphic designers have a unique style
even if there are more accounts with the same skill why would that matter they profit from traffic too, so i don't really understand them

Thanks for your replies. I did a profile a month ago. I prepared this profile as I will apply when have time and need to apply so the account is not active for a while. I was disappointed, they suspend my account and cannot apply. Don't you think, they're too strict unreasonably or just my thinking?

I work on both upwork and guru. Upwork told me that they are not taking new freelancers for any category. Upwork charges 20% of your pay as there fee anyways. I prefer Guru as they only tak 8.95 percent.

Well...20% is not a fee, it's ransom money. It's like Upwork saying that your work is too small and our platform too big. Once people find a better door, these money-sucking vampires will fail spectacularly.

I totally agree with you. These are really money sucking vampires on the Internet. I want that all these vampires fell one day.

It is true that they are not accepting new profiles these days or have become quite hard with approvals. However, I can help you with this to either get your rejected profile approved or to get you a new approved account. Also, I think, you should have posted this in want to buy section as you want to buy an account.

upwork is not allowing profiles for past 1 year now . Try to sell your services on more open forums like BHW or warrior forum . Upwork also take a cut of 20% until you have reached $10k in revenue from a client .In that case they will only charge you 10% .But the downside of not working on upwork is they have really rich clients which can easily spend thousand of dollars if you provide quality of work .

I rejected twice for SEO and content skills

how I got my profile :

I told my friend to create one and add odd skills like singing and related. guess what .. she got approved. and then I changed everything with my name details related to SEO and writing.
its been 7 months and am using it without any issue. I changed the name, and all the details except the username (they don't let once created). but its working and getting projects. don't know if it works now but this is how I get it approved.

Try other places. There are many out there that are accepting new writers. Just be patient and it will happen somewhere.

Frankly, I visited that site, and it looks like a total nightmare to me. The site itself, it's shit.

I visited that site with selling in mind, and I visited that site as a buyer in mind, and both times it left me utterly confused and annoyed, and I left and didn't look back.

I don't know. I just dislike that website. Fuck em.
