Anybody successfully churn/burn anymore?

I haven't been hearing nearly as much about old fashioned blackhat churn/burn methods around here lately. Is there a reason why nobody is talking, has it dried up or something? I know that Google has squeezed a lot of the quick and dirty methods over the past 18 months... but has churning become unprofitable at the bottom?

Personally I have not used those type of methods for several years and I agree, I don't see much talk about them now either. I know a few years back when I was using GSA it was slowly getting harder to make an impact.

Interested to hear if anyone is still managing to do it.

no, although i am going back to game hacks niche as it brough me most money.. sites get banned every 1-3 months so I am thinking of some new techniques that might work and kill it, right now writing automation scripts to help me to the job

Ah this is what I was beginning to assume. I never was into that game, but it used to be big around here not all that long ago. I'd say that as recent l as 2 years ago MOST the players around here at least dabbled. This must be what people who complain that SEO is dead mean, that churn and burn us dead. We all know that SEO in general has been getting more and more expensive, so it makes sense that c/b is not working.

Here is how they killed it, they didnt use any algorithmic updates, they used the only thing no one can manipulate, TIME

Now, you need sometime to fully index your website, 6 weeks at least to see any impact from any backlink (for any decent keyword) and 4 months for full imoact and showing in first page. Now, fighting for first position is another story as bounce rate, ctr and adwords quality score stuff start kicking!

So, yeah, you cant churn and burn cuz seo now is about two things, huge money to invest in buying bl's and patience

Right back in the day, i am talking 10+ years ago you did not even bother with seo on churn and burn sites.

You could buy targeted google adwords clicks for like $0.01, run ads with brand names and make an absolute fortune just by having the site live for a week or so.

It was literally like having a money tap you just turned on when you wanted a pile of cash.

I remember being on holiday in thailand and seeing a place i wanted to buy, ran a churn and burn and bought the place for cash a couple of weeks later.

Those were the days...

Yep, GringoMonkey, those times were golden indeed. I just wish I would have scaled it even more and invested more in stocks, property, etc...instead of spending significant sums on travelling, partying and enjoying life. Being in the early 20s and suddenly having loads of money doesn't promote wise decisions

Both your statements on rankings are wrong. You can see impact before 6 weeks on brand new websites, and you can defo rank front page for a decent keyword sooner than 4 months. Not sure where you're getting this info from...




BH SEO as we know of has become more difficult. I remember when we ran SpamRank which very quickly became a viral service here, ranked for some crazy competitive keywords super fast. That's the last time we did BH SEO, it's become a lot more difficult. Props to Google for that.

There's still ways out there for sure, if you want to dig deeper, roam around pharma, viagra, pills, payday loans and other keywords that are generally known to have a lot of BH activity. You'll find sites ranking quickly with BH here and there. You can run a deep analysis and follow the trails to see what exactly they do and try replicating it yourself.

Damn, there's so much misinformation going on lately on SEO. Of course it works, but it takes a whole different approach. Just start testing yourself and this is how you see what works.

You can still churn and burn using automated stuff, but you must have good content sources when you create the links. Related to your niche and somehow unique.

Well I am only semi retired now because of the 2008 Crash, the stocks ended up being worth f**k all! So you were better off partying it away instead of investing in stocks

But it is a lot harder now to do Churn and Burn, the only exception to that was books on Kindle Select. But Amazon put a stop to that about a year ago. So to the best of my knowledge all the techniques you need to use now are pretty much the same process as doing something legit, so you may as well go legit.

This time issue has become a thorn in the side of MANY who provide SEO to companies as well. The average person is pretty impatient and explaining to them that it takes months to get the results they want isn't easy. Makes selling SEO harder.

The more i work with clients the more I want to create leadgen sites in their niches and sell leads to them at a premium, never have to hear client crap about reporting and performance, plus you can sell to their competitors and really rinse them.
