Is parasite SEO still working in 2018?

1. My plan is to create several parasite pages/website in Facebook, Medium, Tumblr, blogspot etc.
2. Internlink these site i.e make post in medium, link another post in blogspot, make post in blogspot, link it to tumblr, tumblr to FB - chain continues.
3. Link Main site (homepage/inner page) from each of these site.
4. Use GSA indexer for backlink. Only create backlinks for these parasite websites and not for main site.

I saw one of the guy using similar tactics.

Your recommendations are appropriated.

Yes, parasites still work very well.

That second part about making a link wheel is questionable and probably unnecessary.

Note that certain platforms work better than others. Some platforms will remove your post/page if a ton of spammy backlinks get pointed at it.

Double check every platform, these days many are nofollow or even noindex and yes don't do links wheel

Yes this still works, but a word of caution ' I saw one of the guy using similar tactics' what works for one site/person doesn't always for you.

1. Yes, Parasites working fine
2. Linkwheel is big footprint so don't use
3. Only point 1 link to you main site & point 1 link any random authority to looks natural
4. Without Gsa/Backlinks Web 2.0 Properties Useless

thanks for the info. Will avoid link wheel part.
Is there any other way to get back-link beside GSA Index? Possibly in little to no cost.

Can you please tell which parasite platforms are best for rankings now adays

Based on experience,
Wordpress
medium
Blogspot
Google Site
(focus on creating link wheel around these)

You can also play around Google My Business.

While the result hasn't been ground breaking, I have seen some improvement in ranking.

For all the above mentioned methods. Content is the key. Make sure the content is readable and Fresh.

Yes,. they do work, you can find plenty of them on the first page for various keywords on different niches.

Any recommendations on content length?

I read on another site that you need a long, detailed post, like 6000 words. Anyone tried with less, e.g. 1000-2000?

Don't want to be harsh or anything (which this might sound like) but dropping you the truth.

Isn't it quite obvious that these kind of techniques simply don't work anymore? I mean they could work in case you are looking for $200-400 profits for a year of work but that's pretty much it. Everything works - but what are you looking for exactly? If your goal is to make money, I wouldn't count on this. Rather make a real website with long lasting results. Parasite days are pretty much over even though you can still bank a few bucks short term from those.

I disagree with this. I'm making decent money with parasite pages with very short amount of work. I'm pulling in $x,xxx per month ranking these. Sure it's not stable for years like a normal business, but it's definitely a profitable source of income.

I appreciate you're trying to give the guy advice from your point of view or experience but this isn't the case.

Parasites still rank all over. You can't swing a cat in the SERPS without hitting one. 2-400 a year is a strange number to have arrived at but I pushed a little over 250 yesterday from a parasite setup. It changes, like everything else in SEO, but it still works.

And a 'real website' is the common suggestion. Yes, you have more control because you're not at the mercy of the platform but it's not all roses. There are definite advantages to using parasites as well which I wouldn't discount myself. Not to mention if you do make a site for that niche you have yourself some properties to backlink from.

i like to tag along OP's question and ask this: if your objective is to help your money site with a help of a parasite, at what point would you point a link from parasite to your moneysite?

  1. Few days after the parasite is setup?
  2. when the parasite gets indexed in google?
  3. after X weeks of using GSA to pump up parasite? If this is it, then how many weeks should you wait?

Blogspot work for me on my first try, but on my second try it didn't. I guess its all hit or miss

Depending on what parasite you are using and for what purpose - it can work, if the right parasite is being used.
For instance, YT is a good parasite for videos and it does rank fairly well that can be tailored to a specific purpose.
FB page is yet another good one - but you'll need to bump up the likes and followers before it can be a good parasite (maybe you can buy some).
Google Business Page is another awesome one - you can't make it appear spammy but for local SEO, it is king, and it's easy to rank and bank as well.
