Hi,

I hope I posted this in the right forum.

I recently signed up for the Viabuy prepaid MasterCard in order to be able to handle my online money transfers easily. When I signed up and sent a copy of my ID, they stated that I must load 90€ in order to activate card. Even before I paid this amount of money, they sent the card to my address.
However, before I received the card, I decided to use another MasterCard provider. So I never paid this 90€ to Viabuy.

After a month, they started to send me emails that I have to pay them 90€ or they will hand my case over to the debt collector agency.
Here is what they wrote:

Please now comply with your part of the agreement and load your account with a minimum of EUR 90.00 before (date deleted).
Otherwise we will have to hand over your case to a debt collection agency without further notice. Of course we wish to avoid such action, therefore please load your account now.

I can't terminate my account without paying anymore, because I found out that there is a clause in their Terms and Conditions, stating that you can withdraw from the contract without paying only in the first 14 days.

Did anybody have a similar experience? Are these debt collector threats a real deal?
What do you guys think I should do, pay the 90€ now, or wait and see what happens?

Do they have proof you ever received it ?

Was it sent signed for service or anything ?
Have you admitted to them you did receive it ?

If not, go back and tell them you're still waiting delivery, it was never received and it's too late now that you no longer need it.

A debt collection company shouldn't be interested in something worth $90.

Hi MisterF, thank you for your reply.

It was not sent signed for service, I received it in a regular letter. However, I did activate it online (I inserted the card number in their system), so this is probably a proof that I received it.

However, they also state that if you don't receive your card in 7 days, you should immediately contact them.

I am afraid that when the debt collector company gets this claim, I will have to pay way more than just 90€. But I am not sure if they can really claim this amount.
When I try to search online for similar experience with them, I only get approx. 3 hits. It looks like they are removing any complaints from the internet.

In case anybody else wonders in this discussion, I would like to let you know that this email was the last thing I received from Viabuy. Nothing else happened.
Thank you @MisterF for calming me down :)

They can't do anything. Go for neteller or payooner

Hi, I have same situation like you. I'm living in Netherlands. Instrum Justitiia sent me the collection debt email :(

First, @stefano03 I would like to apologize for not seeing your post. I guess I missed the notification. I hope everything was ok.

@anhtu214, it looks like this company is a real debt collection agency. Be careful what you tell them in email or in any other form of communication.
I will send you a PM with a tip. I know I should write it down here, but for your good I will write it in the forum a bit later. So things don't get messy if anybody from this debt company is reading this forum.

You did not reply my email but reply here, because you know people will read here.
I will tell to every one I know and want to get your card that you are cheating.

I think the comment to which you have replied was showing you the terms and conditions of this card, they're not a representative of the company.
