Amazon FBM Fake Purchases

Hi Together,

we are trying different strategies for Amazon FBM Fake Purchases (German market).

We found out that:
- FBM Sale with 100% non public Promo Code isn't working (No BSR or Ranking Change)
- FBM Sale for 1€ with Gift Card isn't working (No BSR or Ranking Change)

Now we are trying some strategies with public Promotion codes, Full price sale and prepaid credit cards.


Got anybody of you some working strategies? I didn't got any success yet.

I am from Germany and I know people working there. Have been to a few conferences regarding selling on Amazon. Many officials from Amazon were there as well. Maybe the people are not the brightest, but their system sees everything. Every suspicious behavior. From what you said above on what you tried you might be flagged already. Check reddit, FB groups and so on. People get suspended for ridiculous reasons. Recently Amazon Germany closed dozens accounts from chinese and other foreign seller, because they were doing some stuff like you do...

Just do or try whatever you want. Its not my business. I can only give you the advice from what I saw and read.

If they ban only on reason that someone buyers buy using gift cards than this would be the easiest way to kill competition. Otherwise everyone can get flagged and therfore everyone can get banned. Making whole system useless. Also do you really think chinese sellers just give up after receiving permanent ban? You think it's hard for chinese guy to acquire another personality, another company, another bank account? Because it surely wouldn't been hard for me if I was making money on it.

Yes, but to defend them: The taxes and how to pay them in Germany/Europe can be kinda confusing. For example in Hong Kong there is NO VAT. If they got no idea of it and they just started to sell, then they didn't do it on purpose I believe. But of course: They should have done research at any cost before they start selling in Europe.

Don't think Amazon or even the government is so stupid. Of course there are some ways to kill competition, if the victim isn't reporting it to Amazon. Usually Amazon wouldn't harm your account, if you tell them something suspicious is going on. There are many ways to figure out things. Not only the IP of the seller or buyer account, but also about the products (if one account gets banned, suddenly another account opens and send the same products in?), the bank information etc. There are so many things to consider. It is extremely hard for a seller not to get caught. Maybe you will survive a few weeks or even a few months, but in the long run: No. Believe me, Amazon is a billion dollar company; They know stuff and how to handle it, also they know every kind of possible scam. I was talking to these guys who are working there. They told me all the stuff right there by themselves. Of course I asked them how they handle fake seller, fake accounts and so on.

Of course people can try all kinda things, but only because they don't ban you immediately it doesn't mean they will ban you in the future. Sometimes they just put someone on the "watchlist" and check out whats gonna happen within the next few weeks and months.

They knew alright it was part of there strategy don't pay VAT and undercut anyone who is, add that to the nearly free postage China gets then they have killed off many UK businesses that did pay the VAT... is that fair?

They know it very well, like leww wrote, it is part of their strategy. I have been doing business with china for over 10 years, never assume they are dumb. Its just we cannot read them. They know very well how to exploit markets. Not their fault if they are outplaying the capitalists. But a lot of people on Amazon and Ebay are getting killed locally, that is also true. We have pressure too.

It depends on the products there ways where you can improve your bsr and rankings as well. For hint try deal websites.

Just like they did with fake accounts spamming millions of offers for cheap stuff just to never send any of those? Hold up, this scam is still up, not something you would expect from a "billion dollar" company. There are so many backend errors when entering products that it's mindboggling.
Regarding IP, bank information etc, every single one of those things is easy to bypass with half a brain. There is no physical possibility to ban permanently new banned sellers entering market unless they just block new registrations from comming in.
