I have been looking across the web for the last three days for a solution to this. I am estimating I have spent about 13 hours of the last three days trying to figure this out. I give up; I need help.:(:(

I have tried no less than 8 different plugins, 3-4 of them have raving reviews that say something like, “Wow, this was so simple even I (a coding-handicap person) could use it.”

Because none of those work, I am thinking there is something in my site origin theme that is causing the problem.

I know how to set a link to a regular image within my post, but the featured image does not set the caption, description, or anything else. The featured image doesn’t even link to the image file on my server.

How do I get that feature image to be “clickable” so someone can click it and go to the photographer’s website.

Thanks for any and all guidance on this issue!:):)

Download the image and reupload it to the article, click on it then go click in the link button (it look like a chain :) ) and put the website of the image owner or any link u want.
Yes it's easy!

When you say the featured image, are you meaning the image that you set in the bottom right hand corner?

You can't link that, to an external link, unless you play around with the code, as it default links to your post.

Thank You Gangstaboy for the reply! I want to set a custom link on thumbnail just like when someone clicks on thumbnail they don't go to the post they directly redirect to external link.

Simply don't ask for linking this thumb to a link! But ask for the redirect!
U can use a lot of shortener that do that work, u set the thumb image and the title then it redirect to the link u want!
Or u can search for some php codes that do the work of redirection from this post to another link!
That's it! It's also easy ;)

Yes, exactly that image want to give it a custom link, I wish I can do this with a plugin if it is available. I will glad to see if someone let me know the PHP code which I have to add/change. Thank you
