Interesting idea. At least 90% of that article is pointless fluff/filler. Here's the only paragraph worth reading:

Do-follow link is nothing but the link juice performed in the SEO. Link juice is the technique using which you used to pass the link from one website to another. Using it, you come to know that how powerful the linking between the one site to another or in-between is. The hyperlinks are used for it.
The important factor while ranking your website by the search engine is that how many quality links you have added. It is not like that if there are more number of links then search engine will rank your website on top, it depends on which type of links you have added.
The more authority a page has, the more link juice it will pass.
No-Follow link -
It is intended to reduce the effectiveness of certain types of search engine spam, thereby improving the quality of search engine results and preventing spamdexing from occurring in the first place.
Recently Google has said that they will still count the nofollow link as an outgoing link in terms of the distribution of page rank from your page. Though again it also depends on where that nofollow link is placed. Placing a nofollow link at the bottom of the page has the least impact, and when placed at the top of the page, it carries some impact.
The necessity of the nofollow tag highlights the crooked and spammy mentality commonly associated with SEO.

This article makes a big deal out of nofollowing every single outbound link in your site. I thought that this was common practice. In which case would you ever want to pass link juice to an outbound link?
The only takeaway from the article is try to have more outbound links pointing to recent sites in hopes that they mention you back with a do-follow link.

well I also write about other business. But I usually write honest stuff. So I badmouth them basically. I dont think i am getting link from that. Maybe DMCA

I love how these bloggers keep hyping something that is not really new.
The return rate for this method is zero.
I work for a company that has more than 5,000 articles where they link to almost every brand in existence (for their niche).
Do you know how many returned back a link?

one of the reason is probably because people are scared of SEO. they are so scared of losing link juice that they create websites with nearly 0 OBL
Though shall blog on moz. There are lots of "never believed". And never tested stuff guys

Heh, quite depressing. I've seen some decent sites that are solely relining on this approach instead of that those sites I analyzed are using followed links and they are doing fine, they have quite few link backs. I guess the key is in the outreach process.
Care to share the exact process you were doing? Did you reach out to them to ''let them know'' that you've mentioned them, or you were just liking out with the hope of getting links in return.
About the article, this guy who wrote it likes to maintain the perception in the SEO community that he is some kind of visionary, and that he always offers unique point of view. Well, it definitely doesn't work every time.

It's because the majority are just trying to re-invent the wheel, but like to add a dozen or so affy links into the articles at the same time.
