I had seen a lot of posts about sites like iWriter here but very few people mentioned their experiences with alternative websites. In this post I am sharing my experience with DotWriter and how you can make money on the site. I hope content writers on this forum benefit from this post.

What is Dotwriter.com ?
It is a an online marketplace where one can either sell or buy articles. One can buy from already written content present in marketplace there or request a custom job. Thus as a writer also, you can earn two ways.

How can you earn on Dotwriter ?
1) First is by writing the custom jobs. You can click on content desk and then see the available projects. Depending on your membership level, you can choose a project. the pay per 100 words also depends on your membership level but it is way better than iWriter. Minimum is $2 per 100 words.
2) Second way is that you can submit already written articles in marketplace section. Whenever someone purchases the article, the price is credited in your account. I had got sales from this section and thus it means that they do promote the section.

Other things to keep in mind
1) All articles submitted to marketplace are checked by editors manually. Only decent articles are let in.
2) Minimum $10 is required to withdraw currently by Paypal.

If you have any doubt, post below and I will answer.

Hey,

So I've looked through the website. Would you say that writing custom articles yourself and submitting them would be the best option starting out?

Also, are there any niches which are easier to sell in your opinion?

Yes , you can try that. Also attempt currently available projects. My articles that got sold were marketing related.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I'd be also interested in quality of the articles, as they only show the first paragraphs or so, making it difficult to really judge.

I don't suppose you are willing to share the article you've sold, but would it be possible for you to share an approximate example in terms of quality?

Thank you.

So how do i submit a pre-made article?
Log in to the website. Dashboard will open open. Clcik on "Submit article in marketplace". You have to complete profile to be able to post article there. Do share your experience.

I do not have access to the articles I sold. Based on responses you have made, I guess your article will be accepted. Try with one article and share your experience.

You have started to think in right way. But you need a good writer for this.

Been looking for similar marketplaces like these to sell some articles on the side.

Couple of questions for the OP:

How does Dotwriter fees work? Deductible per transaction, or do you have to pay for a premium membership?

Is it full of cheap articles where everyone is racing to the bottom?

Thanks!

how much money did you made with this website? and iwriter is the same like dotwriter?

From what I can tell, its a set price for the all the articles. So no race to the bottom.

Fees : They charge based on per article sold.
Price: $2 per 100 words is minimum which is decent in my opinion.

Thanks, will check it out.

It looks similar to textbroker, except it’s open to all nationalities.

Do you apply for the job and then the buyer decides who writes it? Are there enough jobs to sustain yourself?

As a freelance writer, I am always on the lookout for new platforms to make money. This one looks promising and how you explained everything has intrigued me to try it now.

Can you tell me a little bit more about this one? Like which articles will likely make the cut? Is there any particular niche or subject that sells more?

In custom jobs, you have to pick first when posted there by a client. You can add as many as you want in marketplace.

I guess articles on crypto should sell more these days.
