Donation system - make the BHW rich content again

I don't think you can comprehend how much work the mods already have, this would only get worse if people think they can earn from their posts.

The only way it would work is if you make this a private forum with a monthly subscription but obviously most couldn't pay for it, this is the most active free marketing board in the world and is a good place for beginners and every now and then experienced people pick up a gold nugget as well.

The only way it would work is if you make this a private forum with a monthly subscription but obviously most couldn't pay for it, this is the most active free marketing board in the world and is a good place for beginners and every now and then experienced people pick up a gold nugget as well.

Last I heard, BHW is working on a complete marketplace overhaul, which could possibly function similar to SEOClerks, where you have an internal account with BHW that you can top-up to spend on the marketplace and withdraw to your PayPal etc as a seller. This would be the perfect system to implement a donation tool like this, as it could all be kept inside of BHW and be completely automated. If moderators remove a post for spam, any money earned from that could go into a community pot, or even just to help fund the site's development.

Steemit does this perfectly (It's a social media platform, not a forum before you go and remove the link) and while I'm sure they get some nonsense posts, there are some amazing contributions there.

There don't seem to be any quality Xen add-ons that can offer this straight out of the box, but you may be able to use this information to help. I know this can be done, as I worked for another forum that had something similar to this.

In my opinion, if it would be ever made, users can "moderate":

1000 words, 100 posts accounts
haven't that, user can report and moderator delete, thats all

System? One system, donation with BTC, LTC or PayPal, one choosen method. Mentioned under the post without color fonts, big fonts, etc.

Internal account to make BHW sales platform is some nightmare. Especialy with PayPal, disputes, fees, chargeback frauds.
I don't like any escrow models. User pays to BHW, then you wait weeks for withdrawal and to PayPal. Nightmare.
I will delete the PayPal from my thread in next days, just because it's bullshit, not payment method.

Having it internally though BHW would allow you to track what member maid what payment and ban people who chargeback.

It would also prevent many scams.

I'm not a fan, but it has its benefits.

I know exactly how much work BHW mods have to do.. and it's already too much. BHW is grossing 6-7 figures a year, I'm sure they can afford to bring on another moderator. It's not like it's a particularly skilled job that would require a large salary - not at the basic level anyway.

Besides, I bet they have literally hundreds of members who would be willing to do it for free. The volunteer mods seem to be the ones who do most of the work (Maybe not behind the scenes, but simple things like removing posts) anyway.

A lot of old tactics work with tweaks, I can already tell you that NOBODY will drop their money maker for a couple donations.

There are private boards out there with a $100/month subscription, these have everything you are looking for but hey a lot of people don't want to pay that amount.

There are many people here that will want to have everything as cheap as possible and preferably free they are not going to donate anything, hell I wouldn't even donate for every post I enjoy because every dollar to someone else is a dollar out of my pocket.

I only donated to BHW because I did get a lot of info from here, I have made some very good contacts and working on big projects but it didn't come easy, people want everything on a silver platter handed over to them.

I like this idea more for Jr. Exec and above members. It might give the current yellow and Jr. VIP members a reason to be more contributing members of the forum (the incentive being the off-chance of getting a donation). However, the two points from this thread below highlight the issues with this hypothetical feature.

• The number of spam threads will go up exponentially. @BassTrackerBoats is right about this. Even if such a feature were limited only to Jr. Execs and above, we'd have a bunch of yellow-membered morons thinking it's acceptable for them to link to their Patreon or whatever account and violate rule 3.9. "Now that i has copy/pasted method, plz donate to me so that i can mak monies or ad me skyp (live:back2spambhwforum) for link".
• "You're Only Posting For Money". @elavmunretea knows about this from first-hand experience. The peanut gallery loves derailing threads whenever they get the slightest suspicion that someone is trying to profit off of them in someway.
