You think Ripple is done? think again.

I think this is an open forum and anyone can disagree with the point raised by another fellow members. I think @Sherbert Hoover is just trying to bring some sense to fellow members so that people don't just lose their money. I say thank you for this..

It is an open forum and everyones entitled to their own opinion...
And in my opinion people that come into the crypto forum just to bash crypto all day are idiots ... thats just my opinion
You can crticize it but bashing crypto and just saying its shit in every single post... I mean why are u even in this forum then?

Its like going to the "make money online section" and reply on every thread " this is BS! You cant make money online..." lol

Whether blockchain technology is here to stay or not, I doubt crypto as we know it today will be.

Like back in the early 2000s, every cunt and his dog thought he was a forex trader, and going to become a millionaire. Where are these people now? They are part of the mliins upon millions of people who see Forex trading as a scam.

I think you will more than likely find, in the not too distant future, this will be the general opinion of crypto too.

ps I will be gambling on Ripple in the hope that it goes on Coinbase, then I'll be out.

Haha. I like your comparison especially when I am a forex trader. :)

Anyhow to put into prespective.
Current Crypto total market cap: About $200billion+ (source: Google search)
USA Stock market cap: $22.5 trillion+ -2014 (source: https://www.ftportfolios.com)
Global stock market cap in total: $61 trillion - 2014 (source: https://www.ftportfolios.com)

More rooms for growth in terms of market cap if greater fools theory applies?

It all depends on mass adoption...
If amazon and the rest of these huge companies will pick up crypto, we are early adopters and most of the traders in this forum will probably get rich.

If not, then not. :)

Another possibility which already happens in Israel for instance is that the government is thinking about developing their own blockchain and currency, how will that affect the current cryptos? probably won't help their growth to say the least.

This is exactly right and the way people should approach this. Even with the observations @Sherbert Hoover made in his replies, the fact does remain that a lot of money and opportunity can be had in crypto. Shit, the margins are so high that it is almost fool hardy to not throw some money into the pot and see how lady fortune shines. I waste enough money playing blackjack at the casino anyways, and I see this as a better gamble than single deck blackjack with higher rewards. Just ride the wave and make some money. Scared money always loses! High risk-High Reward. Shit, if you're scared about losing some money, don't play. General rules for getting in on crypto:

  • Dont bet your rent money
  • Don't spend your child support money on crypto (Your damn kids gotta eat)
  • If you're gonna cry if you lose 75% of what you put in-stay out of the game
  • Buy low, sell high.
  • Hodling is the safest bet.

100%. That what I was telling ppl here a few days ago when everybody panic sold their positions.
If you can't lose that money don't invest it... I mean its been said here so many times that if someone haven't gotten that part so far, maybe he deserves to lose his money.

BTW, heres a great appearance by Ripple's CEO on CNBC today if you didn't get the idea behind ripple -

I'd also like to mention, despite @Sherbert Hoover point about ripple being centralized and controlled, this is the very reason why ripple or another similar centralized coin will catch on. This is exactly what banks and western governments are looking for. Maybe in the long run it won't be ripple, but it will be a system very similar to this (probably a few of them).

PS I should mention that I've been in on ripple since its been $0.23

Yeah, it's become pretty annoying.

Every major crypto thread has this strabic hipster coming out of nowhere and aggressively bashing on whatever coin we're talking about. Chill the fuck down dude, if you're not man enough to take the risks, then just don't.

It amazes how someone who manages to be completely wrong almost every single time still manages to farm some likes. Worse yet, someone who always brings the conversation back to middle school level and attacks people who are just politely chatting on an otherwise awesome forum. You're by far the biggest cancer I came across during my short time here on BHW.

XRP isn't the most traded coin on every major exchange for no reason and it's strength relies exactly on the points you listed as flaws.

Don't be a purist hypocrite and bash on a team of professionals who actually know what they are doing just because they control supply, something they publicly stated they would do from day 1. And guess what: THAT'S WHAT MADE RIPPLE STAND OUT. You trust private companies literally every single moment of your day but, because it's crypto, then it's shit.

Unlike yours, my time is valuable, so I won't spend it lecturing you on Ripple and on how not to behave like a chimp, specially not for free.

So, @Sherbert Hoover, crypto isn't for baby-faced manlets like you, stick to your guns and stop polluting our threads.

Thanks :)

Well said.

He is one of the first members I search for his posts to read... in the past he seems to be a nice person. Once he became a "Jr. Executive VIP" it seems that it has gotten into his head and became arrogant.

All the other members are just brown nosing him like dogs. Even when he is wrong or utterly rude so many times the other members back him like hoes to a pimp.

I am disgusted. And disappointed.

Why is no one talking about Raiblocks (XRB). Unlimited scalability, zero fees, and instant transactions. This crushes everything on the crypto market by a long shot. It's moving up like a monster and as soon as it hits major exchanges, expect it to soar even higher. This is the only crypto I'm in. The tech is revolutionary and expect it to replace BTC.

Amazon sure as shit isn't going to buy in. But hey, let's trust a tweet from a big baller of the company in control of the inflated Ripple supply of over $70 billion. He surely has nothing to gain from leaking vague information such as this.

It's the 21st Century equivalent of the "company" that was looking for investors "for an undertaking of great advantage, but no-one to know what it is"

People invested in that too.

I love @zionbar 's enthusiasm just as much as everyone else. Shit, the kid is getting so excited he can barely string a sentence together. But please, before throwing money into something, do your research. Ripple is great. The company. XRP is not. People are blindly throwing money at this because people say to blindly throw money at it. Bunch of hype men.

Only a small percentage of XRP is actually tradable/on the market. Ripple (the company) owns the rest. They are literally controlling the supply. Them doing so is hyper-inflating the value. There are almost 100 billion XRP. Less than 39 billion of them are tradable on exchanges. The company can decide when to release more. It is premined. It's not decentralized. It's not even a cryptocurrency. It's a privately-operated fiat currency.

Ripple is a company whose blockchain technology could revolutionize banking. No banks are using it, though. They are "testing", but nobody is buying in. Amazon sure as shit isn't going to buy in. But hey, let's trust a tweet from a big baller of the company in control of the inflated Ripple supply of over $70 billion. He surely has nothing to gain from leaking vague information such as this.

XRP is Ripple's coin. They hold over 60% of it themselves and have been desperately attempting to pump it into stardom for several years. It's been pumped and dumped before, on multiple occasions. XRP has a history of instability and is a sinking ship that is shiny and new and backed by a company that has promise.

XRP is one of the most unstable of the unstable altcoins. @zionbar doesn't even know who the founder of Ripple was. He's "a very honest guy I've been following for a while"? You had no clue what crypto even was six months ago. I know that probably seems like forever, right? Let's not forget that this was even before you were insistent that poor people were selfish. Good god, a guy who literally wrote "poverty rates are EXTREMELY HIGHER in poor neighborhoods vs rich neighborhoods" is now an idiot savant about a multibillion dollar currency.

Jed McCaleb is the founder of Ripple, and has been doing shady shit for years. Right now he's the head of ANOTHER completely premined, fully company-controlled coin (Stellar). Before that he created Mt. Gox. That worked out well. Ripple is an overhyped piece of shit talked up by overhyped pieces of shit. It is the super hot pump and dump right now. A lot of people are making a lot of fake money because they are refusing to sell. Yes, I have strong anti-crypto feelings, but goddamn, XRP is the shittiest of guttersluts in the cryptocurrency world.

And it's being peddled by thousands of little zionbars. Magical crypto gurus who didn't know where the fuck to start six months back.

I'm done spouting about how most altcoins are pump and dumps backed by nothing but ideas and empty promises. This should be evident by now. But Ripple is the biggest one of all, and when it goes down in flames, this is the one event I will be standing on the sidelines laughing my ass off about. It is the epitome of retards not knowing what the fuck they are doing, and trying to tease out the meaning of "a household name".

And before the classic "you're just mad because you didn't buy in", fuck off. I didn't buy in because of the reasons listed above. All of them. I'm mad because people are being taken advantage of. And they aren't even going to know it until the shit hits the fan. I'm mad because clueless fuckers are causing distrust in the concept of finance. I'm mad because all of a sudden every rich boy fuckface is suddenly an expert.

@zionbar, you're great. You're adding a lot to the conversation and getting people excited. But shit, man, you have been talking out your ass for months now.

I do agree with you. Here, I said it.

Like @Sherbert Hoover I was thinking xrp is complete shit and unreliable, but since he is always wrong about cryptos I'm going to buy a shitload of xrp right now lol

XRB is Amazing, I opened a thread 2 days ago. From then I doubled in 2 days and still growing while entire market is suffering.
When It will hit major Exchanges It will skyrocket literally

Its easy to see the potential and confidence ppl have in ripple
Even in a day where most currencies are down a bit ripples holding strong

The reason for the sea of red today is south koreas news saying they might shut down some exchanges in Korea

Again when things get good governments step in and trying to turn it into shit... hopefully they cant this time

Not ALL the other members are brown nosing him.

SH and I don't agree on anything, at all.

Sure, Micks.

Fuck XRP. It, much like most altcoins, is backed by greed and self-interest at the expense of the ill-informed. It, much like most altcoins, is hyped by the very same ill-informed.

Is this really a crypto bubble? I saw ETH @ like $80 and thought "just more junk".

Now it's $980 CAD and I missed out on a new car.

This shit seems so random to me, almost like it's run by strictly inside trading.

It's not random at all.

Look at the total market cap. Money is flowing into cryptos daily and when they're not going into Bitcoin, the money is going elsewhere.

Total money in cryptos has tripled or more in recent months. Normal that a big share of it went into the #2 coin.

I'm putting $500 into Ripple. I remember people pumping up bitcoin 4 years ago and thinking it would crack 900 someday.

Try to catch a dip bro
While fools here were talking the usual bubble crap ripple went up another 10% to 1.44
I wont recommend to buy at all time highs
