Recovering banned 280k page

Hey guys

I got one of my big pages banned today for putting an affiliate link (cloaked with bit.ly) in my bio. I didn't promote it with a post or anything but as the page got a lot of traffic I figured I would just promote it in my bio for the time.

I left it there for a night and decided the next morning to remove it again because I didn't know if there's a big risk of getting banned for it. Well.. it seems like there is because like 2h after I've removed the link and changed the bio, my account got disabled for violating instagram's terms. It wasn't saying that it got disabled because of the link but because of the timing I figured that it had to be the reason why they took a closer look to my profile.

I filled out instagram's form to get the account back and they've sent me an email saying I should send them a photo of myself holding up a piece of paper with a code that they've attached. So they basically want my face next to that code.

It's the first time hearing about something like that to be able to recover an instagram page and I'm not so sure if I should actually send them a photo of myself in the hope that they will give me the account back.

What do you guys think? Any experience with recovering an ig page? Ever had to send a picture of yourself to instagram?

Any advice much appreciated!

yes, I'm a lizard that's the point. It's hard to hold on to my branch and hold up a piece of paper while taking a selfie.

Main problem here is that it is his big account. He should be lucky enough to get such big account back just by sending his pic holding the code. It is not that they are asking his naked pic. And it is instagram official who are asking it. So we can somewhat trust them.

If it is official response and you are running legit account then you should not be worried. Sites like Xvideos (weird comparison I know) also does this and nothing bad has happened.
I definetly think you should send the pic if it is only way to get your account back.

Again if you are concern about privacy as long as you are running legit account why are you even worried. And is there any privacy in today internet world?
Will you start and work to make account big again or will you send your picture holding code to instagram? I think choice is obvious. Good luck don't worry as long as your account is not like adult niche related or any other niche that is illegal or fake type.

i know but its the question what they do with your pic ... this more than meaningless for the account. but i know they do it all the time and that does not make it even better. on facebook it could make a little sense to check the profile againts the pic with the code but on a non personal ig account ???

i would consider to fake it. load a pic from the non facebook world and add the code there

Tired this in Xvideos and their reply was F you. But who knows might work on instagram. And since you have already done this on facebook it is more possible that it can work on Instagram too.

For such a big account, I would consider to send them a naked me picture... not just a selfie with a code

I honestly wouldn't do it and try some other ways of getting it back. I never heard of anyone having to do this... I can help you out if you want getting it back.

I have heard of this before (though not so much recently). From what I remember the people who complied with Instagram and sent the picture with code got their accounts back fairly quickly.

I believe it ties your beautiful face to one account though (280k may well be worth it).

There was some discussion before when this was happening en mass about paying people on fiverr pose with their codes. I am not sure how this went in the end.

I'd do it. Make sure you look dead sad about it though. Push the sympathy angle, Insta will give your your account back in no time.

Usually the request, also asks for you to hold a government photo ID next to your face, and the piece of paper with the handwritten code sent by Instagram.

You want your account back, you must do what Instagram asks. Remember, it's really not your account. It belongs to Instagram, who let you grow it out of the kindness of their heart. The posts and account that you uploaded all belong to Instagram. They can do whatever they want.

So, either do what they want, or start a new one, and hope they don't do the same (ban/delete) when it gets big.

i had to send in a picture holding i think my email address but i had lady picture on profile i just said sorry my sister pic but it my account got verified with days

moto of the storey .

you dont need to lie of fake shite just say picture a relative and it your account simple .

no one forced to use there own pic on accounts .

Please update on more what instagram did after you send the picture. Like did they gave you account directly back or place some more requirements. I would like to know this because I guess I will soon be on your place

Dude..they just want to know if it's a real person running the account or it's a bot. My account got banned too and I recovered by sending them my pic with the code. I recovered my account in someone like 4 days.

Sending pic with code is a verification method from long time ago for many websites, I don't wonder they use it too.
