Hello,

I have seen issues of getting calls on registered business phone number for the website I am doing SEO. We got so many calls from Local Citations websites for buying their premium packages instead of staying in free ones.

Is there any way we can avoid that?

Shall I give another non-important number when doing submission on their website?

Let me know.

Thanks.

It's common to get call regarding premium upgrades from citation websites. Their marketing team are paid to do so.
Many Citation websites use one set of contact details for building the account and the details that make up the public profile we are building. In such cases the contact details given while building the account will be used by the marketers to nag us to upgrade the package.
There are websites where both public contact details are the same as the one we use to build the account. In such websites, you can use a secondary phone number, but all the possible contacts through that website will be coming to that secondary number which may affect your tracking.
Well, in many cases people don't care about tracking possible contacts through citation websites, in which case they use secondary contact number.
You must know that using different phone numbers across citation websites will affect NPA consistency and affect Local Seo.
So if local seo is a priority, I don't suggest doing it.

Yeah, I would justs give them a different number.

Ok. But I think it wont help us as we want customers calls as well through that.
