For this thread, I just want to focus on Expired Web 2.0 Blog Networks. There's a lack of discussion about it on BHW.

Post all your questions here so we can have a good reference thread if ever needed by others.


Are proxies still needed after registration of expired tumblrs?
-Might be common sense for some, but I've searched for probably half an hour with no success.

You only need proxies to hide your IP from tumblr so they don't link/disable all of your accounts.
Once you have a tumblr setup, you may or may not need a proxy, depending on your intent for the web 2.0.
If it's a long term tumblr account then you may need another IP to log into it once a year or so, so it doesn't expire, but other then that not really...unless you're posting content to it regularly.

The company has been a flop ever since Yahoo acquired it, so if you put a lot of time or money into a web 2.0 PBN and you want to let it sit idle for years, or manage dozens of tumblr blogs under same IP address, then you do that Sir. Best of luck to you.

There is no assumption. I sell expired web2.0's. So I try to talk about the shit that I test.
I have tumblr blogs that are live for 5-6 years now, without loging in from creation time. And some are really spammy.
Tumblr blogs don't get deleted from inactivity. There are a few web2.0 platforms that have such a rule.

Thanks for the info, I'm planning to buy 100-200 tumblrs registering them over over maybe 2-4 days with 15 proxies. You think it'll work?

Thanks for the info, I'm planning to buy 100-200 tumblrs registering them over over maybe 2-4 days with 15 proxies. You think it'll work?

I would go slower with account creation with only 15 proxies. I usually try to keep 1 proxy per account created per day.
But this limit on account creation is something that I haven't tested lately. It works good the current set-up for me.

For some is not working. For some it works. Like with any other link type, take in consideration on-page and off-page factors, competition, set-up, etc.

There is a trick to expired Tumblr accounts - you do not use proxies to create those accounts, as new accounts (lesser than 3 months old) would generally get flagged, if you do a lot of link building to that Tumblr blog.
Instead, to be on a safe spot, buy accounts that were already created some 3 months back, and through those accounts, you can change the primary Tumblr blog to the expired Tumblr blog of your choice.
These older accounts would be more resilient, and can withstand a good amount of high link building pointing back to it.
Other than that, you just need simple basic proxies to manage the older Tumblr accounts, as they are less monitored due to its age.
