Let me help you out with a TLDR!

Have website, website gets much views, website making little money, popads not converting good with CPM's going down, USA traffic, need recommendations for monetizing my site properly.

Long read I'm completely sorry!

Honestly, I am within the Music Download niche and looking for serious help monetizing my site ... I am generating a lot of views for sure, but not sure how to properly go about monetizing my website at all.

My traffic is almost 80% United States traffic yet popads is still paying me trash, all other ad companies pay on pathetic payment terms, and I'm legitimately just about to stop running my sites all together because it's to much risk, for to little reward.

Some things I've learned along the way.

1. Getting domain banned in google, absolutely sucks especially when it's a site level ban and not a domain level ban, these are often from Copyright related issues.

2. This niche is literally the worst niche you could ever be in, the conversion ratio is beyond low. The traffic is there literally to snag a free download and leave, most of the time they're using a hundred ad blockers, and smart enough not to click on CPA related things.

3. Content lockers will kill your website completely, with hundreds of websites popping up every day from people in countries that can literally survive off of hundreds of dollars of income per month, you really can NOT complete if you include content lockers.

4. Google Adsense is your only decent revenue source, and it's on a timer. During any point of the day your entire income pool could just be swiped from under your feet like it's nothing. Gotta love google adsense

Please someone help me, I don't want hand outs I want advice to how I can monetize my traffic!

My websites are generating around 4,000,000 views in total each month primarily from the United States, my main income right now is from url shortners however it still isn't really so much, outside of my server bill I can barely get by.

Popads rates are going down every single day and now they're not even paying out with automatic withdraws anymore, not to mention upcoming changes in Chrome 64 I don't even know if marketing via Popups is a long lasting idea.

Just change things up. If you see its not working change the site up a little. Time and time again I see things just as this put a site up and get traffic and not making money. Will look at your site data that will tell you what you need to do.

Now if your traffic is from one of these traffic deals where you buy x number of visitors that stuff isnt going to do anything for you.

Look at your data tweak and tweak some more. If it was just that easy everyone would be doing it.

Have you ever seen the sites that put up "If you liked this, buy me a coffee!" with a link to a paypal? Put that on the top of every page.

Sort of like how Wikipedia does their fundraising. "blah blah blah keep us afloat with money, donate here, blah blah."
 
How much are you making now and how much unique visitors do you have? It's hard to advise you because little money to you could mean something totally different to someone else.

Exactly, there are two types of people:
1. Music Lovers who go to itunes, spotify, etc and buy their music
2. People who don't want to pay so they download a torrent.
Nobody wants to go to a site with popups, surveys or any other crap to download music, the only people going to those type of sites are broke noobs who are new to the internet and haven't learnt about torrents yet.
 
I will say this -- I agree, that niche definitely sucks.

What I would say is I disagree regarding AdSense, there are for sure lots of other ways to monetize but I'd honestly change the niche if I were you. Or tweak it and do something slightly different.

What do you mean you disagree regarding adsense? Meaning you don't think it's the only viable option?
I know there's some methods I could use that would probably work incredibly, but finding proper ad networks is a living hell.

This is a method I've seen quite often actually, I know torrent sites do it religiously, and I've thought about messing around with it for awhile now. I actually think that for awhile Ad-Maven's primary income source was from VPN CPA within popups, as that was all that I saw from them.

Yes exactly, it's so not the only viable option to monetize the website. It's one way for sure, but look into the other kinds being discussed here. ^Adfly might be of some help, maybe some MaxBounty/PeerFly CPA Ads, etc..

Thought about this also, but my website is so worthless in traffic pitching any form of offer to someone in a email would be almost useless as they would never convert.

i also hade a nich about free or social stuff .... this people will not buy anything. even the cheapest crap was impossible to sell there ....
but you should some Adsense revenue with this views.

Yea, adsense does well but only if you include it in malicious ways which put your account in danger.. Because you cant include Adsense on pages which contain copyright content, so you have to make fake landers which convert decently but you get a large amount of invalid clicks, or invalid impressions doing it this way.
