The 4th quarter is here and if you have been doing e-commerce you probably know that this is the time when we can make the most money out of our stores. Since I posted my dropshipping thread last year I have reviewed hundreds of stores from people who have implemented it and one thing I kept noticing was how bland most home pages were. In other words they were not optimized for conversion. If you follow this thread you will ensure you make the most money possible with your store will what I can call the money making e-com homepage.
Now don't get me wrong I know a lot of you have been making several thousand dollars a month with your stores but my point is you should be making a lot more. You could consider this a continuation of my Shopify threads so if you haven't read them I would recommend you go and check them out. Now back to the subject at hand.
Introduction
A lot of you don't realize that the homepage on your e-commerce site is the most important page on your whole site. Simply put 70% of your visitors are gonna visit the homepage even if you are sending traffic to the inner pages. There is a very strong reason for this, the e-commerce giants have been training consumers for years now to view the homepage where they have all the information you can possibly want as a consumer.
Now the first thing you wanna do is make your homepage as content rich as possible. That doesn't mean just have random stuff all over the page. Over the years I have split tested almost any homepage combination you can possibly imagine and well pretty much nailed the highest converting homepage layout possible. If you setup your home page like the way I am about to explain below you will be making at least 5x more the money you are making right now with your store.
The Ultimate Conversion Optimized Home Page Layout -
1. Main Banner - This is perhaps one of the most important parts of your home page as it't the first thing visitors see when you land on your page. The way you wanna do is have a super high resolution picture of a product that your store is based around and for the text have a discount. Example - " Up to 40% off on selected items. VIew now!" This will dramatically decrease your bounce rate. I recommend using a static image instead of multiple images as it simply converts better.
2. Headline + Intro Content - Below the main banner you ideally want to have a headline about your store and a breif intro. This can be only a few lines but make sure it sends a message to the visitors as in describe what the store is about, why it's special etc.
3. Category Image Navigation - The next thing you should put is a 4-5 category images linking to their respective pages.
4. Featured Products - Title them as Best Sellers and put your top selling/ most profitable products there. Only have 3 images viewable at one time. I have tried with 2 to even 7 but 3 out did them all.
5. What Buy From Us - Next thing you wanna put is a video explaining why your brand is special and the person viewing your store should buy from you. This is very important as after I implemented this in my stores i have almost 3x my revenue and trust me my stores were already very conversion optimized. For this part just outsource it from Fiverr and you are good.
6. In The Press - Buy a few editorial links and put them there. This builds up credibility and greatly helps build trust with your shoppers.
7. Instagram Feed - This part is very self explanatory but try posting high quality images on your IG related to your niche with products they can buy from your store. It doesn't have to be the exact same product, just something similar.
Conclusion
There you have it. Use this 7 step layout and your store's homepage will turn into a money making machine. You have no idea how much this layout increases conversions. Just implement it and watch the results for yourself. Anyway's I know I haven't been posting as often as I should but I am about to drop quite a few $ makers for you guys this holiday season!
