i have problem with ugly url's being indexed. please advice me how to resolve this i never had this problem before.. so wordpress automaticaly create these shortlinks
domain.com/?p=111 - indexed
domain.com/sample-post/ - indexed this one is canonical

why both ugly and pretty url are indexed im afraid of duplicated content penalty.. permalinks are set correctly in wp settings. Also ugly url not redirecting to the pretty url, but i thought it not have to redirect if canonical is set.. i checked on my other websites those ugly urls redirect to pretty url, i dont know why not on this new website that i building.

i read and found this option in yoast seo -> advanced -> permalinks Redirect ugly URLs to clean permalinks. (Not recommended in many cases!)

Could this solve the problem?

I'm not 100% sure this is what you mean but If im correct, what you want to do is go to General Settings... Use website name.... Remove the alternate name... Or vise versa... Not sure which one is which one is the the "pretty url" and which is the "ugly one" in your website.

i resolved the error already, it was some code inside the theme that i had to delete.. so these ugly urls domain.tld/?=xxx started redirecting normaly to pretty urls domain.tld/post-name/. theme developers assisted me.. thread can close
