I am working as a linkbuilder from many years and looking to open my own link-building business. What's your suggestions. Secondly, I am planning to build my own site. I just want to know which niche would have less competition and will get more attention from internet users.

I would suggest to just make your website and use your own experience in linkbuilding for your website. That's a good start and a good foundation for your business. After that, you can look for interested people for your service. When you build your website and generate traffic at the first place, they will find you too.
