Hey guys. My name is Kenny but my friends call me Lord. I'm 23 years old from California born and raised.

I first joined the forums in September of 2016, and have been popping in and out since. Reading through all the various threads, I developed a deep interest in marketing and blackhat tactics. I experimented with a few different methods on this forum with no real success: I've made a few shopify stores, never made a sale, but learned a lot. I also spent some time growing twitter accounts with massplanner. and learned a bunch about SEO.

At some point I fell off and pursued business opportunities in real life and recently, a buddy and I opened up a Medical Marijuana Dispensary. Its only been a short while but the business is doing pretty well. I currently am making $200 a day personally without doing much work. I spend 12+ hours a day sitting behind a computer and answering the phone.

So that brings me to today. The money I'm making is cool but I would love to create an additional income for myself as well as expand my skill set.

I decided I will be starting a journey and attempt these 3 methods simultaneously:
Another Shopify Store
Instagram + CPA
A Niche Content Site

I know I'm not early on these methods but at the very least they will be a form of preparation for the the next big method.

I am open and eager to hear any ideas you guys have for my journey as well as for my dispensary. My dispensary currently only advertises through Weedmaps, so any guidance is welcome. Also open to any other methods and investment opportunities.

I also want to thank the folks who spend their time adding valuable content to these forums. Some of you go so far, above, and beyond to share your knowledge, only to get called scammers and such. I'm extremely grateful to you guys and glad to be here.

No red carpet? lol

Haha I'll be the first to welcome you - welcome aboard! Glad you've taken action, that puts you ahead of most.

Any of the three methods you've mentioned can work, but it's generally a good idea to focus on one and make some money before trying more or you may spread yourself too thin - also Instagram has cracked down a lot these days, so keep that in mind.

Best of luck to you!

Not related to your thread but how difficult was it to open up a dispensary? What kind of capital and licensing did it require?

Thanks for the welcome.

Yea I hear what youre saying. I'll definitely focus on getting one method going at time but at the moment I'm really one the computer 12-14 hours a day, every single day, with not much to do lol.

Oh lawdy! I am interested in your brick and mortar. How is your pay structure? Are you hourly, or based on profit? If profit, I would focus on your dispensary! After all, its already established.

So, hopefully that’s the case. if so, you have a world of possibilities in front of you!

In California the licensing is still in a grey area. Most dispensaries including mine are just operating under a nonprofit but things will change soon. When it comes to capital it varies. I spent 15k-20k but I know people who spent 50k before they made a dime.

That's actually not nearly as much as I would've guessed.

Its just a flat $200 I decided to pay myself. The Weed industry will still be my main thing but I'm looking to get my feet wet somewhere else. When licenses are released next year, I may go out of business.

Yea. Weed really sells itself so its up to you how much you want to invest. If all I had was 1 jar of weed sitting on a block of wood, someone would buy some. But cultivation is something that takes much much more capital.

Yes and as dispensary you're required to grow a certain percentage of what's sold correct?

As a non-profit, can you sell accessories and/or paraphernalia, like pipes, bongs, papers, etc?

Also, if you cannot would you be able to give recommended suggestions to your clients? Not just “check these guys out,” but something more along the lines of “now officially partnering with weedbongsonline”? That way you can direct your current customers to a place to buy cool smoke gear...

No? Atleast I've never heard that before, maybe in another state.

I'm not sure if were technically allowed to, but everyone does. Its really a big fat grey area with everything to do with marijuana out here. Technically its all illegal. Possession of any concentrate(wax, hash, etc) is a felony. Yet, everyone sells and buys it with no repercussions.

15/20K to open a dispensary in California?

I would think the licensing would be in that range.

Which was it, 15 or 20?

If one can open a dispensary for that little money I'm surprised that there are not tens of thousands of them and people are creating street corners to open them.

Exactly... Hell if I can get one opened and running for even 40K I'd jump on it.

Licensing will be 5k an application when it comes out.

Also note: My shop is not in a major city. and there still is shops on every other block in most cities.

The legality is what scares people away. No one goes to jail anymore but people still do get raided and assets seized.

Sure, that is going to happen as you are breaking federal laws... so was it 15 or 20K that you used to start up?

That is not an industry I would pursue but if I could do that for 18K and I was open to being that guy I'd open 10 of them as that is nothing but a license to print money.

I have a cousin in Colorado that is in that industry and he has well into 6 figures into setting himself up with his deal so 18K is nothing for that sort of thing.

Are you doing anything online to promote?

Just started playing with instagram. I was hoping to get some guidance here on tactics I can use.
