Hi guys,

Would need some help here.

We are targeting keyword say 'my keyword' and we would like to insert into url:
domain.com/my-keyword/

Should we have the exact match or we could go for longer tail which append to the keyword?
domain.com/my-keyword-is-fucking-awesome/

We it rank lower when people search for 'my keyword'?

Thanks.

It's something that Pengiun started to target a few years back. Never put entire exact match there. It looks terrible, doesn't help your optimisation and if you overdo it, Penguin might be angry. So use the first "my keyword" option.

Thank you for your advice!

Domain name is not important. But if you targeting, let's say "Broken link building" keyword, it would be great to have that in this form http://www.yourdomain.com/broken-link-building
Hope this helps.

Phrase and keyword match helps to rank better your website on SERP for those targeted keywords.

I am not sure there would be a massive difference if you use either option. In case you use clean search engine friendly simple URLs, you will benefit in any case. As itz_styx said, try it out and see how it goes.
