Starting next month, people will be able to click “View Ads” on a Page and view ads a Page is running on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger — whether or not the person viewing is in the intended target audience for the ad. All Pages will be part of this effort, and we will require that all ads be associated with a Page as part of the ad creation process. We will start this test in Canada and roll it out to the US by this summer, ahead of the US midterm elections in November, as well as broadly to all other countries around the same time.

  1. Include the ad in a searchable archive that, once full, will cover a rolling four-year period – starting from when we launch the archive.
  2. Provide details on the total amounts spent.
  3. Provide the number of impressions that delivered.
  4. Provide demographics information (e.g. age, location, gender) about the audience that the ads reached.

Wow so everyone will be able to copy the audience of successful campaigns.

I highly doubt they will be that specific, I think it's designed to show companies using social PPC to spread misinformation rather than allow people to snoop on competitors and copy.

Hi

oh no i am developing the facebook ads software. It will spy also. I am doing for facebook, Instagram. I need to complete it and sell before next month only. Thanks for informing this.

Cringeworthy? Probably.
Surprised? Absolutely not.

I mean come on. Since Google came on the scene in the 90's they, and other large companies, have been steadily chipping away at the privacy barriers the internet used to offer. They want more legitimacy for everything that happens on the net, and in doing so, they've also managed to build analytics of our entire lives, and penetrate every aspect of nearly everything we do. I think this shift in advertising by FB might cause the other giants to follow suit, and tighten the noose even more. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

From OP text I say this isn't bad, it is a disaster. I wonder if FB will survive this.
Yes, they will survive. Only affected will be affiliate marketers...
But ppl which are just promoting their page legit and other stuffs wont be affected. Think on Ferrari, mcdonalds, local events stuffs, etc.

What is the best fb ad spy tool at the moment?

EXAMPLE: So it means if i have a candy company i would be able to see all the PAID ADS of the other candies company ?
so no more need ads spying tools ?

I think it's a bad move from FB, because if everyone will just click of a button be able to copy the whole competitor strategy and start ads, What will FB do? give equal traffic to both traffic and give same results to both? So market will be saturated in minutes?
