With all the accounts shutting down lately and the posts on reddit, I quickly moved all my funds from there. It really sucks it was such an amazing platform, but any gov who asks them anything they will comply on the spot. It seems like a decentralized exchanges will be the future of crypto trading, but who know when that will come.

Tons of posts calling them Scam, I was thinking of jumping in. But looks like need to wait.

Doesnt really change much for me. No reason for me not to have a verified account and for me to trust my exchange with my money i want them to be a registered business and once they are a registered business there is not much they can do when a government tells them to do something :)

I think it was mostly Middle East based accounts that got shut down due to terror related funding fears.

I was sceptical about Bittrex at first, but recently opened a ticket to disable my 2FA and got the same day a reply with a solution. So I'd still go with Bittrex (and Kraken ofc)

Never had any problems with them. Still use them for trading alts. One of the best exchanges for alts imo.

I am with bittrex and i am really happy. I have heard that issues comes for US people.

the problam is comming out of the whole process in uk, know we are not entitle to certon vcc cards and other stuff ...

uk not in the euorope rules or added to it so therefore where not entitle to a lot on internet deals ...

only internet marketing pointing out facts

There's been a lot of bittrex FUD lately, most of it pure drama. Still, I think descentralized exchanges are the way to go

Personally, the moment I heard about bittrex account freeze i immediately took $$$ away...like 100% of it. Someone should get to this decentralised exchange thing as soon as possible, don't trust any exchange.

I should add I thought bittrex was the most reputable of them all before even putting $, i searched and read almost every review everywhere and thought Bittrex is as secure as it it gets. I still think it's amazing, but really I don't want to log in every morning keeping my fingers crossed hoping my account is not locked. What a joke. They say it was 0.01%, next month another announcement that its 0.10% or 10%, there would be nothing in the world you could do about it.

I trade on bittrex every day for months, never had a single problem. Except not liking their 0.25% fees.

Really think about it, a CENTRALIZED exchange for a decentralized currency, it negates all the positive. It

As long is its not 100% of your portoflio, i mean if you only have like 25% in there I guess you're fine, but just keep in mind it COULD be locked one morning. With a decentralized exchange, it COULD NOT. Which one you prefer?

Agreed. The whole point of using cryptos is the decentralized aspect. Soon Bittrex will make you wait 2-3 days before you can use an incoming payment like a bank would. Eff that!

I understand what u're saying @JJohn. I use 10% of my portfolio for trading.
I had terrible experince with exchanges in the past ( with poloniex for example).

If I had to choose a decentralized exchange, I would pick cobinhood for a little test drive. I am following their CEO Popo Chen, and he made 0 fee exchange, and i will try it out in november when it goes live. It will start as centralized first. And develop into the decentralized Q2 2018. For now, fees are bigger concern for me, without acceptable fees your efforts are diminished in daytrading.

Feel free to share your experience with other exchanges. I will talk about cobinhood when I test it.

I will most definitely read about cobinhood and test it out. Thanks! At least if bittrex was more upfront about the whole thing...instead they closed accounts...people on reddit start hearing about it and everyone starts wondering what happened and all sorts of explanation...and FINALLY when almost all the dust settled then bittrex writes a little blog paragraph on their site...like really??

I haven't taken a single dime out of my Bittrex wallet since first hearing about the disabled accounts. I'm not too worried because I haven't given them any reasons to disable my account and, in the end, it's a risk that I'm willing to take.

With that said, I will certainly move to a decentralized exchange when the first one with public acceptance become available.

agree with Lyyk but bittrex is us based company so the risk is higher there

Have folks had a good experience using services like ShapeShift (sort of like a decentralized exchange)?
