So I run an adult site and I've found a couple of expired domains with backlinks from some sites with good da and pa. If I buy those domains and redirect them to my main site. Is there any risk in that...or will it help my ranking? I found a good domain with backlinks from about 8 sites with 30+ DA but the 8 sites all have the same ip. This is my first attempt at SEO so I don't know if that's a red flag.

Will those backlinks become backlinks for my site?
Could I be penalised for this?

I'm currently ranking on page 2 for my main keyword so I dont want to mess things up...

Any advice is welcome...

the best is to restore the articles/links which are linked from authority websites, and place your link somewhere, also create other pages and posts and keep writing articles regulary, this way your backlinks are stronger and last forever.

also be sure to do more checking on the domain side before purchasing, be sure it doesnt have any kind of spam and is not deindexed.

How would I do this? When I say expired I mean it's no longer registered(no dns). Can I use ahrefs for this?

bad; this is a red flag; you are getting a site poorly SEOed before, so pass.
Thanks for the advice.

This is wrong on so many levels.

1. Really don't bother about any Moz metrics. Check the RD of the domains, TF if you want, but forget DA/PA.
2. If those domains aren't from auctions and have DA 30+, then I can assure you they are not clean.
3. Make sure they are perfectly clean first. Adult niche domains are 99% spammed as hell.
4. 301 redirects suck and they suck even more with low end domains. Anchors, backlinks and even penalties are passed with 301, plus, with weak domains it probably won't even work.
5. Redirecting XY sites is a terrible idea, let alone from same IP.

You could be penalized but you might get away with it.

No one here knows.

What I can tell you is that your idea won't do much for your rankings. Domain with 8 RD and all from 1 IP is terrible, period.

301 is a crapshoot and attempting it with such crap domains is just a waste of time.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I was getting so excited when I found them... Thinking I discovered a goldmine. Lol. Unfortunately I already bought one so I guess it's just dead weight now.

Since you already got them why not try an expiriment with a brand new tumblr. 301 everything to the tumblr after putting some adult content on it and see if it helps. If it works, all you have to do is either 301 from that tumblr itself to your tube site or switch the links to your tube site.
