i just came across this article https://www.gotchseo.com/trust-flow/
and what is here this man Gotch writes in the middle of the article:

We have extensively tested this and conclude that the #1 factor that gets private blog network websites deindexed is when the content and outbound links do not match the Topical Trust Flow of the domain. For example, a network site with a Topical flow of "Society / Religion" that has content about Garcinia cambogia and is linking out to a website about health/supplements has a very high possibility of getting deindexed.

what do you think about it?

what do you think about it?
Yes this could be a partial explanation, or say one red flag. And they need more than 1 red flag.

But I dont think this is #1 factor. I would say #1 factor is when google does reverse engineering of page 1 for competitive money terms, then analyze link profiles, determine anomalies, and then finds the PBN.

Will a PBN that ranks nothing at all get deindexed?

i think yes, if it was #1 factor - probably all the PBNs were screwed in no time

That is the reason for 0.0001% of PBNs getting hit. You think google gets their experts to waste time searching through the serps to manually find PBN's? Or do you think they figured a way out to pick it up with maths? Which, they absolute excel in when compared to every other technology company out there.

OP: Google doesn't manually search and ban PBN's (or they do a very little amount), it'll be you getting flagged in their algorithim. The algo has most certainly increased 10 fold over the last year for finding, so yes non-topical links are a reason for the algo to pick you up. It will make your PBN alot more obvious.

Since Jan, I completely stopped linking non-relevant links to my site.

I am not sure I used the word manual in my post, have I? Interesting how PBN noobies seems to know more than veterans.
But in fact you are perfectly right, PBN deindexing requires some manual input as we have seen since 2008.
What testing have you done about that, young man?

side question: if i use expired domain as money site with new non-relevant topic - i suppose i will get my TF decreased?

Hahahaha, believe me if you think Google are wasting time filtering through PBNs for most markets you are hugely mistaken. Unless you are in hyper-competitive markets, which you aren't, then you ain't got to worry about your 10 site pbn getting caught.

Google will let it's Algorithm find your pbn and then they'll manually review sites flagged up as PBNs. Google does not aimless review sites like you suggested.

TF won't decrease because site content isn't a factor, but you could lose links because you set up a new site.

You made a number of assumptions in your post, I recommend you stick with facts not guesses.
1/ here it is not a question to believe you or not (we need faith now?), it is the question of knowing the facts and having experience with the matter or not (which I have, and apparently you do not).
2/ what makes you think if you are not in competitive niches (I removed the hyper), then I am not; as a matter of fact I mostly do competitive markets.
3/ who spoke of review sites, was it in OP?

You seem to add your interpretation to my words, please refrain from doing that. And obviously topical TF (or more generally topicality) matters, and I have been paying attention to that aspect since 2009, while you seem to only have discovered this factor.
Since Jan, I completely stopped linking non-relevant links to my site.

Now saying this is #1 factor is another story. And topical TF is a fuzzy metric anyway, that cannot be precisely measured. How about cnn? What can they link to then? everything? nothing?

@soa0611 the article you mention has not scientific testing foundation or proof, it is just a marketing piece in favor of majestic.

gotchseo is good many times but I just dont agree with the point. though I dont deny that this may have 1% contribution to indentify PBN

in general, i have not seen any PBN getting deindexed when its real private. that is when you post only one external link to client. The de-indexing issue comes only with Public-Private network. When you post 10 articles on 10 different blog linking to same domain.. possibly same day using same IP with google font ON :p

Well if I have a website about "Society / Religion" because I'm a Christian I can't be healthy as well ?

EXAMPLE: Hello everyone, I'm Alex I pray everyday right after my morning training using this awesome treadmill from amazon LINK, amen.

So much bull crap about SEO now days, makes me sick.

Exactly dude. these seo guys just publish any random shit without doing any test.

they do it based on logic, so it makes sense also

but thats nothing but a crap

They do that because they want to sound smart and above everyone else so they can build trust to their audience to sell their crap (basic human psychology).

I think saying it as #1 factor is a HUGE stretch, and honestly the article doesn't actually explain anything. I could easily set up a website, call myself big dick SEO guru and say some random mysterious shit like that.

And honestly, i haven't had any issue with irrelevant PBN for years, except one that got reported which is only 2% of my network, but we all have our very way of doing things i guess.

But it sounds techy and they said they tested extensively so it must be true.....

Depends on how you define "extensively". For a test with statistical relevance, you'd have to use hundreds of domains or better thousands. I highly doubt we are talking about more than coincidence here. I can't proof their statement is wrong, too, but our PBNs never had a de-indexing problem although almost all of them have "irrelevant topical trust flow".

seems Gotch got some cash from Majestic

I think the best way to avoid PBN DeIndexing because of irrelevant content is to first build Relevancy around the topic that the money page is related with and THEN after building relevancy to link to the money page. Explanation:

Let's say that I purchased a domain with Topical Trust Flow "Society / Religion" and I want to link to a Garcinia cambogia page, I will first need to create relevancy by adding at least 3-7 supporting articles for the Garcinia cambogia backink.

My plan of action would be something like this:
Step 1: Create 3-7 supporting articles (500-800 words) with the following topics:
- The best fat burning supplements
- 10 Amazing Garcinia Cambogia Benefits
- Garcinia Cambogia Side Effects
- Hope Or Hype? Learn about the best fat burning supplements
and more..
I will optimize these articles for long-term keywords so they could potentially get some traffic. These articles should be fully optimized and also include photos and other media.
I will include 1 authority backlink in some of the articles. Make sure to use REAL authorities in the niche and not just generic websites such as Wikipedia. I found out that linking to researchers (NCBI as an example) helps. Make sure to not link to a competitor.

Step 2: I will write the linking article (700-1000 words)
This article should be 100% optimized with media etc.
Include a link to your money page AND 1-3 Authority pages. Make sure to use REAL authorities in the niche and not just generic websites such as Wikipedia. I found out that linking to researchers (NCBI as an example) helps. Make sure to not link to a competitor.

Step 3: Interlink all the supporting articles with linking article:
- You can use flat structure (All articles linking to the linking page)
- Or use a wheel structure (One article links to another and the linking stops on the linking article)
I personally use the flat structure most of the times

^^ This.

I should really start some blog site where I would feed people utter "extensively tested" bullshit like this.

If someone had a site called "johndoe.com" and site was about drones, he dropped it and me, a guy with a same name registers it, make a site about cats out of it, gets deindexed? What a load of shit.

Also, especially in smaller and local niches, topical trust flow of Majestic is completely off. All in all, load of crap not even worth sharing.

For a pbn site with strong back link profile, if there is a strong disparity between incoming anchors and on page content, won't it trigger a flag ?

Doubt it. You are simply a new owner of the domain, regular Joe. You have absolutely no idea that the domain has been registered before or that there are some backlinks already in place. You just liked the name. You can't get a penalty for that.
