Hey so some guy told me that if I help sell him his restaurant his gonna give me £10,000, I know him in real life. I’m not sure if he said 10K in cash, cars or drinks but either way it’s 10K.

The restaurant is based in the UK how do I advertise it so it can be seen as No 1 to people who a seeking to purchase restaurants?

Thanks.

Is he selling the whole property, branding, menu? or does he just rent a spot and he wants to sell the intellectual property?
If he is willing to give you 10k he must be seeking to at least sell it for a few hundred, do you think the restaurant is worth that much?
Its definitely not easy to just run some ads to sell a restaurant, you need to know the right kind of people.

Do not believe in the promises of Someone's whether it's friends, before you want help him sell it, you need make a contract with him

What type of cuisine does the restaurant offer, so we can know the "target audience" ?

I agree with this .... some bada__es even violate contracts, too.

He may promise you something and when you find a real buyer, he may cross you out and strike a deal directly with the buyer, with the buyer's co-operation to cross you out.
I suggest do not waste time in such things.

Either make a broker-contract with your friend, or pull out.
Or this will risk causing you more pain than gain.
My advice.

His actually trying to sell the business, his ask price is 150,000. I’ve heard that the restaurant isn’t really running although it’s based in a fairly busy street. Although it’s a huge ask price, if you see this on a bigger scale the cash his giving me is pocket change if the deal does go through.

Assuming you have a legal contract to protect yourself? If you introduce an interested party what's stopping him from not paying, you have no comeback. Anyway why hasn't he gone to a professional business broker?

A restaurant without customers/turnover is worthless.

Everything it has including dishes, menu, seating plan etc can all be replicated and very hard to to protect with IP.

Has he had a realistic evaluation done yet?

Does he own the building? Or does he have a leasehold? If so, how much is the lease a month? Is there flats above the lease?

I would be asking all these questions before even trying to sell this place lol.

If hes a stoner you can trust and 80% trusted than non stoners lol!

This what?

"Anyway why hasn't he gone to a professional business broker?"

My comment should have been more expansive... why is he not hiring a professional as opposed to a friend who has no background or business knowledge in this aspect?

I would not trust a 150K sale to someone who had no idea how to market it.

Exactly, a couple of hundred pounds car, but a business? I would pay the fees to a professional, who has an interest in getting a good price.
