I had same problem, the reason was chain had been loose over time, I tightened that, and problem went away.
Dont know if its same case with you but can try that way ?

Dont know if its same case with you but can try that way ?

I had the chain adjusted and replaced all the sprockets... still no go.

The bike has some age but has served me well so I don't want to replace it.
