I have been dabbling in IM for a while, with various niche sites and seen some levels of success with amazon sites, clickbank and adsense. Last January I sold off 3 of my sites for a reasonable amount of money. This money is still sitting there, so I am looking to reinvest and make either a secondary income or eventually sell off this authority site for a good profit margin.

I have never build a proper authority site before, at first because of a lack of understanding, later for a lack of time. I have a manager job in a busy production environment, which takes up a lot of my time, but also pays a good wage. It is my aim to eventually move out of this environment and possibly start a job I enjoy more. I'm doing IM purely as a secondary income.

Resources
- serpstat account for keyword research
- expired article hunter
- writer for 10$ per 1000 words that can write up to 2000 words per day.

Monetisation methods
- Clickbank Product
- Possible independent affiliate program (Identified 4)
- Possibly adsense on certain pages (filter pages with good cpc that lack other monetisation.

The Plan
The general plan is to build traffic first. I will worry about monetisation at a later stage. My aim is to build out to 50 visitors per day as quickly as possible. I will target a relatively small niche at first, build this out completely before moving to the next related niche. My keyword tool is serpstat, which is very good for finding keywords, but less good at keyword difficulty. I will do manual research on that, but seeing as I want to build authority I will target a mix of easy and medium keywords, with the occasional harder one to rank.

I have a decent writer, and I expect that I will use her for most of the articles, although I will occasionally try new writers too. I will update this thread every few days or so, as I will not have something to share every single day.

I have identified a niche, done some basic keyword research and through manual checks I think there is medium competition. I'm not too worried about this, as I'm looking to build authority and there will be plenty of easy keywords to be found within the niche to gain visitors relatively quickly. I have grouped a few keywords together for a mini-niche, and think I can write approximately 10-15 articles on these. I will target low hanging fruit (50-90 searches), alongside keywords with a couple hundred searches to create interesting articles that get interest quickly initially, and a higher number of visits once the 'harder' keywords start ranking.

As for SEO, I will probably focus on content first. Build content, rank naturally, and then boost my rankings with social signals and a decent PBN. Right now the name of the game is keyword research, identifying topic titles and getting my writer to pump out content.

Current costs

Hosting ($5 per month)
Domain ($6)
First article (1000 words) ($10)
Total: $21

No, I will not target the health niche. The main reason for this is I believe it can be hard to come over to your readers as a reliable source. The health industry is huge, and if you do it right, there is a lot of money to be made, but this is not what I'm doing at this stage.

I'm not going to reveal my exact niche, but I can tell you that there could be a future mini-niche relating to mental health. I will look into this at some point. As most readers will see from me mentioning mini niches, I will be siloing my site appropriately.

Nice, good luck with this. Thinking about doing the same, some authority websites outranked my websites with 0 damn links.

I have expanded on my writers article from 1000 words to 1500 words. Found good images to along with the article and posted it. Structurally my website is ready otherwise. No real surprises here, wordpress, a simple theme that I may change in the future, some plugins for SEO and speed.

I will likely not do something on this site every day but will aim to post a good post every 2 days at a minimum, ideally slightly more.

Good evening,
Not a huge amount to update. I have received my second article which is now edited and scheduled to go on the site tomorrow.

Obviously, not much going on otherwise. 7 visitors, probably all crawlers. I have ordered a number of filler posts that I will use either for manual link building in the future, or possibly for some early outreach. Probably won't do this for another few weeks though. The next few days is all about buying articles, improving articles, scheduling posts and building the base of my mini-niche. By the end of next week I hope to have around 10k words at least.

So, If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

I have one more post scheduled for tomorrow, and 4 drafts I need to edit ASAP. I'm scraping expired web 2.0 relating to my keywords. Not found anything too useful yet.

I'm a little disappointed with my progress the last couple of days. I have a lot of content from my writer, but just not had the time to edit them ready to schedule yet. I've scraped a list of web 2.0 that seem useful. Not sure when I'll get started on that, and also done some groundwork for potential guest post targets. I will start contacting them once I have 20k words or so minimum. I already have 10-15 suitable guest posts ready that need only a little editing..

I have also discovered another sub-niche that I'll be doing research for.

Question, have you not considered using an established expired domain than a fresh one?

Good luck with your journey mate, it might inspire mine.

Not really to be honest. I'm actually trying to do this as whitehat as possible. Reasons for that are I won't be punished, possibly even rewarded with every update, and also to see if I can do it. Ranking on content alone should really be possible.
