Keywords for a general store / blog

First of all, this Forum is truly a goldmine, I came across it few days ago and I can't get enough of it. So thanks all for all the info shared.

I'm setting up my keyword list for my website, an online store / blog where we curate new cool, trendy gadgets, does that mean I have to rank for all micro-niches I have on my website ? How would you go about it ? Would you look to rank for "cool gadgets" and all product categories or stick only with cool gadgets ?

Not all of them are ours. Some we manufacture ourselves but other we review and / or refer

So you want to work on promoting the brand name, the make and model. The search terms for now will be really low, but hopefully should grow, in time.

If the items you're building are fish tank filters, look for KWs such as best fish tank filters, best fish tank filter for fresh water fish, cheap fish tank filter.... That sort of stuff, you should be able to get a coupl of dozen good search numbers in your niche, then look for long tails etc from there.
