CHEAPEST & EASIEST Phone Verification In US?

For when both Insta and Gmail asks for a number.

I saw T mob has a $3 a month plan. So I was thinking of getting a cheap flip phone or a cheap android and just changing out the SIM cards as needed. I also saw other companies with cheap plans; consumer, trac, straight talk.

What do you guys use? I don't mind having to pay upwards of $30 a month for a plan/$10 per sim but obviously I'd like to pick the absolute cheapest option.
