I've had the idea of creating a porn site for over a year now because I think I have good taste in porn...so why no share my personal collection and make some cash while doing it.
The process started with finding a domain name, I thought I had found a good one but I was afraid it would be perceived as a knock off and I wanted to make my own brand. Then I went host hunting and damn was this a pain in the axx. I found some good hosts (cloudways, inmotion, flywheel etc) but pretty much all of them don't allow porn. After an endless search of a reputable host, I decided to go with upcloud, it took a while(tons of researching) to set up wordpress but in the end I got it done. They have a free trial so I had nothing to lose testing it out. I am using their $20 plan and it has been good since.
Then it was time to choose a theme I usually go for nulled themes but this time, I decided to make an investment because I needed the dev support. after contemplating between wp-script and tubeboss. I went with wp-script because it includes the grabber plugin for free.Ultimately I regret this decision because I ended up not using the grabber plugin and tubeboss has alot of features that I really wanted (arg!). Don't get me wrong, wp-script is amazing but I wish I had went with tubeboss.
Anyways, now it was time to start publishing videos, I deciding to avoid just scraping content from popular sites and handpicked the videos to ensure quality. 1 major problem was finding somewhere to host the videos. I did not want to use openload because that will drive away possible return visitors, I thought about going legit and pay for video hosting but that would be too big of an investment. BTW I invested $65 in this project ($50 for the theme, $10 domain, $5 ssl) and remeber I got 1month free hosting.
Back on track now, I am now using google drive to host my videos but this will not be long term, I will go legit and buy hosting as soon as I am in the green. As to how I use gdrive? There are ways to get direct link to gdrive video, you can find out if you search hard enough. I am also using blogspot to host my images.
On the fist day, I published 40 videos in 8hours of straight work. I wanted to keep to 100 videos before I started getting traffic.
By Aug 4 my site was up and running. It was loading in less than 1 sec and I was happy af (ps: I am a speed junkie). By the second day, I had I had a total of 800 visits so I decided to put a few banners ads. When researching on adult ad networks I was dissapointed to see how cheap adult traffic was. The cpm is rock bottom, this was discouraging but I continued anyway.
The two ad networks that I ended up going with are exoclick and juicyads. Exoclick has the better cpm ($0.038 vs 0.25 avg)so far but I will do some futher testing before coming to a conclusion. I also tried adxxx but their cpm is literally SHXT, it's $0.006. I also have a crak revenue banner.
To date, these are my google analytics stats(see attachment)
Revenue so far:
exoclick: $35 (915,000 impressions)
juicyads: $20 (770,000 impressions)
crakrevenue: $22 (1500 clicks)
1 big mistake I made was using pop unders so early. I used it for 1 day and my bounce rate went from 15% to 40% and my traffic took a 30% dive. I will refrain from using until I reach 15k-20k uv a day.
Right now, I am looking for the best ways to monetize my traffic without using pop unders. I would really appreciate any input you might have. I am looking into affliliate networks but most of the big payouts are pay per sale and I don't think that's right for my traffic. I am currently using 1 cam banner from crak and it's doing ok...I think.
I havent's got any of the money yet because of minimum limits but I requested a payout from exoclick and it was approved.
I hope I will have time to update this thread from time to time. Any relevant questions are also welcomed.
do you have any data on how long a user is on site/session time? There's some passive monitizing techniques that can be used which might make you an extra $50-100 a week
