I spent quite a bit of time participating in the BHW IRC channel helping other members who would join with questions by pointing them in the right direction. One day @Pofecker asked me if I was interested in helping as a moderator on the forum as well. I was, became a MIT for 6 months, then promoted to full mod. No application, no fuss. If you are helpful, show you can be beneficial to the forum, and keep a cool head in face of conflict.. you will be noticed. Sadly, I don't get to be as active as I once was with business and family taking a large role in my life, but I still help out where I can.
