40k Dessert Instagram Account - How Do I Monetize?

Hi,

I have a 40k Instagram account in the dessert niche. The engagement rate is just a tiny bit short of 1.5%. I'm looking to monetize this account while growing it to the 80k mark and above. I need some advice for places to monetize.

Shoutcart is a good option except they did not accept my account for some reason, and upon mailing the support staff, I received an automated reply saying I didn't meet the standard. Doesn't make sense but whatever, moving on.

I've also been messaging people from the account in similar niches. My shoutouts would be $60, however they would be permanent shoutouts, meaning I don't delete or remove them later(so long as they fulfill the niche). They were also 2-for-1 packaged. I can lower my prices but don't want to do for example $20 a shoutout.

Where should I hit to monetize?

2) That engagement rate is pretty terrible. How many of your followers are bots or churn and burn follow-back accounts?

Right, so I'm looking for the best way to do that. I've already given some strategies I've tried and I'm looking for other better ways too. Any suggestions?

1. Yeah because quite frankly I'm tired of trying different options and having them stomped out by some third-world sales team that can't speak english, that sets my support message to "SOLVED" without even replying, that replies to me with an automated message when I reinitiate conversation asking why, and that solves my problem by simply banning my account from the database(when there are worse ones in my niche already on there). Not directed at you or BHW but at Shoutcart

I'm currently signing up to Shoutcart alternatives and I've tried messaging users for shoutouts already but haven't been successful. Any ideas?

2. I used to think 1.5% engagement rate was poor. It is, but unfortunately, I was looking up stats for higher accounts, and it seems bigger accounts - unless they're absolutely solid accounts - have reduced engagement rates. 1.5% is average, I'll admit, but it's still a deal that can be closed.

I know nothing about that niche but I do think you do have an engagement issue. None of my accounts are that large so perhaps that is normal but I almost always have a 10%~ engagement on my posts but it could be because my accounts are smaller and my niches are more fanatical as opposed to leisure.

That is really just a guess too as I know zero about your niche except that I like to go to the Cheescake Factory now and then.

I was reading several reports last week on engagement. Accounts with more followers unfortunately have reduced engagement. The report stated at around 1% at higher followers is actually average, a number averaged from several larger accounts. So unless your account is absolutely making a killing like Worldstar Hiphop then engagement was found to be low. It sucks, absolutely, but it's something I have to deal with, and in any event, it's a deal I can still close. I'm just looking for clients to close.

It definitely is a truffling matter, my good sir. To really join the icing to the cake, I'm not able to be set up with Shoutcart. These are most desperate thymes(I know thyme isn't really a dessert accessory, fuck off ok)

I don't know how to use affiliate websites to generate money. I know that's no excuse to avoid learning, but something I have heard is that using CPA on Instagram can lead to being banned. This contradicts the fact that I want to continue growing this account to 80k+. What risk is presented if I take this avenue of action?

In your shoes I would do this:

1) Sign up for numerous baking/cooking related affiliate sites.
2) Build a basic website using Wordpress. Call it something dessert or baking related. YourPerfectDesserts.com or something like that.
3) Provide information about all of these different offers and do reviews of them (giving them all 4.5 or 5 starts out of 5). One product per page with around 1,000 words and numerous photos taken from the companies website. Affiliate link or two strategically placed.
4) Put the URL on all the photos and videos you upload on Instagram.
5) Put the URL in your bio.

That'll cost you about $30-40 (and your time) and could be done in a week.
