Here is my situation. I earned a total of $4850 from two different programs on CJ in November.

All earnings were locked on the 10th of December.

Was paid $600 (the total of one program) on the 20th.

$4250 is still showing as locked but not paid.

No emails or complaints about the offer that wasn't paid.

Tried to call them several times but only get an answering machine.

Why would I not be paid for earnings in December for the one particular program even though there were no complaints and the earnings were 100% locked and not extended.

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I missing something?

I am mostly concerned as I promoted the second program even more this month and have more than doubled the income... So now they owe me a significant amount of money for the one program.

Updating this thread in case anyone has similar issues.. Apparently the advertiser didn't have enough money in their account to pay and according to CJ it is the publishers responsibility to get the money and there is no way to check in advance if an advertiser has sufficient funds. Just an FYI to anyone working with them.

Get a lawyer, this is not how to treat publishers. Sue them and stop working with them!!

Its kinda like the whole "Run facebook ads without any money on your credit card", but on a much larger level and reversed. That sucks man there really are recovery services out there worst case scenario but I don't know if they are effective.

Im no longer promoting them. Will wait another month to see what happens. BUT.. just know CJ does not consider themselves responsible for paying you for traffic.

CJ is not anything more than a middleman, just like a CPA network.

Although they do a pretty good job vetting, and remove advertisers if their deposit is not as it should be, they have limited control.

There is a chance that you'll get paid next month because it could be the advertiser just did not get the money to CJ in a timely manner.

Any chance you can reach out to the advertiser themselves and see if all is good on their end?

Yes I have the contact information.

I spoke with a rep from CJ and my biggest concern with CJ is that according to the rep, they do very little. They were aware that the program was not funded enough to pay me for the previous months earnings and yet did nothing when i continued to promote them.

I get that they are just a middle man.. I also feel that if an advertiser did not have an issue with the traffic and yet was unable to pay for that traffic.. they should be suspended until they can pay.. not just be allowed to continue operating like nothing is wrong.

My impression when talking with them on the phone was that they do very little to try to make things right.

I also asked if there was any way to check to see if an advertiser does not have the funds to pay and he said I would have to call and ask.. but i would be amazed if I got that information.

I agree they should be suspended and I get emails all the time from CJ about advertisers being suspended and then reinstated. I would have figured this would have been one of the reasons they do that as it is just common sense.

Agreed. Anyway, I will most likely just wait a month or so.. the company I am dealing with is a fairly large one. If they don't pay at the next billing cycle, I will start to chase the money.

Had another update from CJ via emails essentially telling me they are not responsible and I agreed to that blah blah.. I already knew all this but the part that bothers me a bit is that the woman who wrote the email on their behalf of CJ said they have no plans on suspending the account (the advertisers account) in the near future.

Not sure what to think about that.. doesn't give them much incentive to pay up does it?

I have $300 from an advertiser stuck under "locked" for more than 1 year now. The advertiser eventually left CJ few months ago; I wonder what total unpaid amount they still owe to however many publishers.

I also have another $214 from an advertiser THAT IS STILL ON CJ but hasn't paid me for 6 months. The amount has been sitting in "locked". CJ doesn't even take any measures to get rid of such advertisers. I had similar emails back-and-forth with CJ support but to no avail. Whenever I email the affiliate@advertiser email they never reply lol. I have moved on to other advertisers but it's unnerving that CJ doesn't take any preventive measures against this.

I understand that they have removed themselves from any responsibility if the advertiser doesn't pay.. but to still have that advertiser listed is messed up.

I got another email from the rep letting me know that they are owed money as well and will take what ever measures necessary to make it right. However, since they started off by stating that I agreed to only be paid when they are and the fact that the advertiser that owes me money is still up and running.. I don't know how reliable those promises are.

I have a feeling that what they do is just send them a reminder email to add funds to their account. After all.. they are "loosing" money but they didn't have to work for those commissions like we did.

My friend is in a similar boat with the same advertiser that I am. The emails back and fourth with CJ is just lip service. Nothing will come of it and honestly I get the impression they really could care less.

I have the same situation.. My $300 commission is locked 1 year ago, but they don't pay me due to the fact that advertisers account disactivated and there are no funds deposited by advertiser. I have feeling that Advertiser intentionally dis activated account in order to not pay commissions to affiliates.. Advertiser is big company and provides Auto Insurance quotes by comparing them.. I opened several cases with CJ, but there is no result. Is it good idea to send complain to Federal Trade Commission or Department of Insurance about advertiser behavior because I don't think I am only one victim here and, probably, it can be the class action lawsuit against advertiser???? I can name that company maybe somebody have non payment problems with that advertiser too. What do you guys think??

May be there is issue with traffic quality,
At CJ end which traffic is not complaint by advertiser is locked 10th of the month and 13-15 paid by CJ.
may be advertiser found it not good just after locked. Because everything is automatic Advertiser put a hold on payment.
CJ takes advance payment for estimated leads, and if found bogus/fraud leads and amount is not paid to publisher used to pay for another publisher,

CJ is now become a horrible affiliate network. I have leaved them several months ago and have joined shareasale. I never had any issues with them so far and get paid timely. They also show the publishers about the advertisers that have low funds in their account. Reports are also in detailed and they maintained transparency with their publishers.

@iwebsocial , Why CJ is now become a horrible affiliate network?
There support really sucks. They don't want to cloak their affiliate links. Publishers are completely unaware of insufficient funds of the advertisers and there will be a delay in payments. There reports are really sucks.
