Is this service from a BHW member, if so can u PM me his \ her contact detail as i need site wide help :-) with the adds
I don't believe so, but the instructions are pretty easy to follow and take only a few minutes, so you might have luck finding someone to do it for very little money.

We've released the list of new and updated features on the product support forum for all customers to check out!

It's a cool product. I bought this and tried on rackspace cloud but those F$$$ers don't allow cURL to be called from PHP. So, I'll try installing on cloud server (works like dedicated) and let you guys know.
It would be nice if you have a text instruction alongside the video instruction. Specially setting page permission and other things.
Great work guys!

Just purchased. Where is the support forum so I can keep up-to-date? I don't see a link on the site.

Thanks!

I have visited FG.COM website, but it looks like just one sales page with the BUY button.

Where can I read about FG features? What sources can it get the information from? I assume it can read from RSS feeds, and people have mentioned Yahoo Answers. What about other sources?

For example, can it read from the web forum thread that does NOT have RSS feed exposed?

P.S. I am sorry if my question has been answered in this thread, did not have time to read the whole thread yet. I have tried to read it and also did a BHW search for oldenstylehats posts with "forum generator sources yahoo rss" keywords to no success. Please answer my Q's if possible. Thank you!

I don't think O.S.H. as disclosed which sources the content comes from, but I can assure you it's far more than RSS feeds and Yahoo answers. It's by far the most sophisticated mass produced content scraper you will find.

Thanks for some clarification here. However, I am specifically interested in scrapping from some forums related to my site. And those forums do not have RSS feeds. So was my question about scrapping other forum's threads.

Thanks for your interest. Currently we are scraping from a set list of sites. In the future, we'd like to allow users to add forums, etc to scrape from, but for the time being, there isn't an option to scrape from a forum of your choosing.

I asked this Over at the support forum but there is not much activity there.

Ok so I have a great little whitehat site that's just started to rank (6 months old) and get some good traffic. It's on bluehost shared hosting. In my quest to become a true resource in my niche I am looking at ways to improve the user experience of my site and thought about adding FG. Is this a bad idea? Am I playing with fire, will all my hard work be undone.
The two main things I can see to be a problem is dupe content penalties and any kind of footprint that FG leaves that google may penalize sometime soon. I could see this being a great source of extra content for my site and my existing traffic could one day provide enough real posts to enable me to turn FG off and be left with a real forum.
Am I worrying about nothing or should I keep everything separate?

Any advice would be great Thanks

If you're concerned about your site, I would setup FG forums separate from your domain and link back to it. In the next version (which is going to be released today) you'll have the option to attribute each post to its original URL, which will basically allow you to us FG in a completely white hat way.

That said, I haven't seen (or heard) too many issues with duplicate content. The forums get indexed and spidered often. The phpBB footprint is minimal at WORST and non-existent at best, which means that it would be hard to identify an FG forum in comparison without a lot of human sleuthing.

That said, as with all things black hat, there is a risk, so I don't want to lead you astray. I've never experienced the end result of that risk, but the risk is certainly there. Thanks for your purchase and let me know if you have any other questions.

Forum Generator 1.5 Changelog
Major Changes
  • Brand New Look - We've taken loads of feedback from our users and have changed the look and feel of Forum Generator's administrative panel completely.
  • New Keyword Management - We've now split the keywords into two separate lists, Link Lists and Query Lists. Keywords on the query list will be used to make queries on content sites, but only links on the Link List will be used to make outgoing links.
  • Random Signature Assignment - Users will now be able to create signatures containing links, images, or any other non-JS HTML object and randomly assign them to a user-configurable percentage of fake forum members.
  • Foreign Languages - Gives Forum Generator users the option of having their forum post in French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
  • Fake Member Drip - Allows FG users to automatically add fake forum members at user-configurable intervals.
  • Fake Member Avatars - Provides FG users the option to assign fake forum members avatars.
  • Site Attribution - Gives FG users the option of attributing threads and posts to the websites from which they were originally extracted.
  • Optimized cron jobs - We've increased the number of crons that run each minute, but have optimized them significantly so they use considerably less resources than in the original version.
  • New content sources - We've added a few new content sources.
Minor Changes
  • Added the ability to add 0 users at installation.
  • Automatically remove outbound links from non-FG users.
Bug Fixes
  • Cleaned up the users file.
