except from being a cheaper and faster bridge for moving cryptos......can u name another real world application?
Are we trying to justify its existence? As a currency, that seems to be the biggest application a coin could possibly have. This niche concept where every coin has a very specific use case, I don't think is truly sustainable.
Will the average person really want to convert their BTC or LTC to buy a
Whopper with Whoppercoin? I very well could be wrong, but I just don't picture that being a functional model for everyday transactions.
Moving on, there are around 180 different officially recognized currencies, and the world operates fine. Many people make their living swapping between currencies, Forex. I think that alone is enough proof to demonstrate that there is enough room in the world for a number of BTC alternatives, simply so people can arbitrage them.
I can appreciate your preference for BTC, I don't think anyone here would dispute its status as the king of cryptos, but to act like it's the only one that can operate in the capacity as a true currency I don't think is based in reality. So long as there are people trading between currencies and platforms for a living, there will be alternatives to BTC. Whether LTC is one of them, I don't know, but it has a good head start on many others and yes, traders do like lower fees and speed.
