I have one account with Braintree, and getting that approved was with ease. But I need another account for a a separate venture, but I cannot get it approved.

Idk why tho... some suggestions or solutions?

They can't directly specify to me because it's against their privacy policy or some bs like that but it can be 1 of many reasons they said. I was on the phone with them for nearly 2 hours and I felt like I was a dog chasing his tail with them.

I'm trying to get approved for their braintree marketplace.

They are pretty straightforward, or were with me.

We needed a legal entity.
A bank account that was not a joke but had consistent funds in it for 3 months.
Proof of existence in terms of ID.
Proof of address with Utility bills.

I don't recall them asking for anything else and it went through fine.

During our call, they mentioned something about insufficient banking history, but I specified to them that this is a mobile application that has been established just a week ago.

I have another biz account that I can try and get approved for, but do you think that my application was rejected due to lack of history to that bank account? Lack of transactions? Funds?

I bet that is what it was as they wanted 3 months of business banking statements.

What a predicament. I had a team develop this app with their sandbox account not realizing that I'll run into this issue.

I'm gonna submit another application under another biz account, and let you know what happens. Thank man!

If I get approved, would there be a way to change the biz bank account on my account to my original biz account when it becomes sufficient?

We have a few LLCs that we own and some handle more than one revenue stream so it was not hard for us because I just used one of those and that bank account.

Maybe you could add the App to the old account and get it approved that way?

In my country if you got legal entity like company you will get approved easily on any India payment gateway. If they are not approving you can go with other options, i am sure there is other options which offer similar features and service.

One thing that put me off is they require you to show your phone on your website (stated somewhere on braintree website). Do you need to show your phone number or your address on your website that's using it?

Just called them now, and asked if I could do the same. Since my mobile app does not use a known gateway, I will need access to their Braintree Direct, and according to them it's a total separate application to the account I have now, so I'll need another application filled out and submited for Braintree Direct.

They never mentioned something about that.

I do not recall if they required it but I have it there anyway.

They did a year ago, I have emailed braintree about this before. They do have some ecommerce compliance thing https://articles.braintreepayments....requirements#contact-information-requirements , any of those contact information is sufficient (maybe they have loosen up on the requirements?). However, their support have told me before that your business phone number will be shown in customer's statement. It's stricter than Paypal for sure.
