Does a Mac work okay as a business machine for you?

I'm looking at potentially getting one for work. What do you guys think? I'm mostly on the web, but I use software sometimes. I typically put it on a VPS but ya never know... are there any kind of restictions I should be aware of?

I've been running multiple large-scale projects and programs on a single Mac laptop that stays on 14-16 hours per day for eight years now. Had the first one for five and a half, this current one (Base Macbook Air with RAM upgraded to 8GB) is on two and a half years and is just as fast, if not faster, than the day I bought it.

Not an Apple fanboy, but I sure am an efficiency fanboy. Machines running windows are trying their hardest to catch up, but I still can't see any close competitor. Again, that's just personal preference. I'm sure there are plenty here who would go red-faced with rage if they were told "Mac is better than PC".

I went to a Mac around November of last year and would not go back to a PC... I still have my PCs running and doing some things but my main is a Macbook pro. I work out on my deck in the back most of the time and it is smaller than my Dell laptop and the keyboard has a better feel to it.

You'll pick up the little differences pretty quickly.

I use it for programming, web development and digital design an it's a hundred times better than my previous windows machines.

My 7ish year old mac runs SO MUCH faster than anything windows I've ever used, but I have a few different computers around these days, and some of them run windows for the things that are windows only. My mac is the one that would be hardest to give up by a lot. It's a desktop, and I've successfully replaced parts on it a few times now as well. I'm handy, but I'm far from being a trained computer repair person.

Bought in 2013.
after 4 years of using a linux box (which I miss though)
and a decade of windows virus crap OS.

I turn it on.
I work.
I turn it off. I got to bed.
I update it once a month.
That's all.
I seldom do major releases.

Ah, and I got my a macbook lately. Which I use daily too when I want to work outdoors sitting naked in the vineyard to write some articles for my PBN.

fasted rig I used was some Windows XP on some Pentium 3,x Whatever.
Than I got some I dont know core and linux.
Whic the mac pro trashin, I forgot what "core, Intel and Ghz" was.

I think, in all those 4 years I got like 1 "black sceen of death or kernel panic"..

I own both a PC and a Mac and I must say they both have their benefits.

I find I am much more efficient and productive on my Mac than my PC, so I use it for most things.
However, things like editing, formatting pages, and graphic design I absolutely can not use my Mac.

If I were to recommend one it would be the Mac, there is something about them that just makes it easier to get shit done. Sorry for the vague answer

I have both a macbook and a PC and since most of my work done is on a website, it doesn't really matter which OS I use, since they both have chrome/firefox.

Also for performance, both are around the same for my purpose, since my desktop is a gaming one with a GTX 1070 (got it before the crypto mining craze ) so I don't really see performance differences.

The only reason I use my desktop is because I have two monitors for it and a gaming, mechanical keyboard (for my intensive writing periods) and I don't have an adapter for my mac to connect to my monitors or the space on my desk to use it.

So ultimately, I use my mac for school work to not get distracted and my gaming PC for a bit of heavy gaming here and then and most of my IM work.
