Journey to a passive $50/day.

Great job mate. Glad to see you enjoying it :D May I ask where you post your links to get your traffic? It's cool if you don't wana answer.

Yeah sure, I'll even give you a breakdown of my page layouts to help out even more. Here's the layout of my site:

So that is the layout that I use with every post. I use the theme MH-Magazine which is amazing cause it throws in a bunch of extra random shit that just makes the page look a bit better.

Now here is what I do in terms of linking (Amazon affiliate). Each one of the photos are linked to take the browser to the product, that's already 6 links on the post. This is also smart because many "old time" internet users are likely to click on pictures. Next I add links to my two product buttons, this is obvious why.

That brings us to a total of 8 outbound links per post. Awesome. Additionally, don't forget to throw in a couple inbound links, here's an example.

Imagine you're selling hairdryers. "The new hairdryer-x comes with 3 buttons for speed control. Want even more speed control? Check out hairdryer-y for 6 buttons capable of speed control!"

Kind of a shitty example, but you get the idea. The "hairdryer-y" text gets linked to that page. This is a ridiculously overlooked concept that - while not increasing site traffic, will increase page views tremendously.

Don't believe me? Go to Wikipedia and search up BHW. Then count how many links they have pointing to other pages. Then scroll to the very bottom and count the number of links there citing sources.

Anyways, to answer your final question and why I went through all this trouble of explaining that shit ^ is because if your site and social media are working WITH each other rather than separately, it works like magic!!

Here's the whole idea. Remember how I said I've already thrown in 6 images into my post. Before uploading those 6 images, I always drag them into Photoshop, add a quick filter, and they look twice as good. Good images = good social media business.

Then I head on over to the socials. I have a Tumblr, Twitter, Google plus, and Pinterest. On Tumblr I post all 6 images individually and queue them. On each image I include the source (My site) where the image came from. On Twitter I make 2 posts with 3 images each. Pinterest I just bunch all 6 together and since I have a business Pinterest account, they source my site automatically. Google plus is a gem, don't overlook it. It's currently my highest ranked influence for when you search my name on Google (First page actually).

All in all count this up. 6 Tumblr images, 6 Twitter, 6 GP, 6 Pinterest. That's 24 links back to my site per post!

I'm sure you understand the basic concepts of SEO and link building and not to overdo it. More backlinks does not always mean better. And to be honest, doing this process once per post is more than enough, at least in my opinion.

And also, Mark Zuckerberg can kiss my ass.

Anyways lol, I hope this will help to boost your UV's a bit further Dayloco and to anyone looking to utilize my system.

Today's UV's - 6?

Odd news everyone, not sure what really happened! I am currently on vacation in a location 12 hours driving away from my home. Checked my stats today and was unpleasantly surprised. Dropped to 6 UV's. Because of this, I really don't want to put the site under any kind of stress and am just going to take it easy for today - no post. However I will attempt to grow my social accounts a bit and advertise on them as well, update soon.

Btw for anyone wondering. I am under the impression that a large timezone change and geographic location change are the reasons for lower views. I may be wrong.

UV's still haven't picked back up. Haven't been able to write a post just to how crazy my day has been. Back to work early tomorrow morning.

Don't worry about UV if you aren't making money.. I am currently building up a site as well and I am getting 5-6 sales a day with around 60 UV a day.

Since you haven't gotten a single sale with your traffic, it most likely means you aren't getting "buyer" traffic but people who are just curious as to what you have to say.

This is why people recommend that you rank keywords on google with "best" or "reviews" in the keyword because the people who are searching have their wallets out already and want to buy.

well idk if its fair to ask or not but are you doing a review site? & do you copy images? if yes then from where? google?
best of luck tho.

Totally get what you are saying, but I am in this for the long run. I am trying to build up an authority site through constant site updates. I want to build up something that will manage to roll with the big dogs. I know it sounds ambitious but that's how it should be. UV's are the least of my concerns at the moment as are conversions because I know they will come.

Yes to all of those.

The site is a month old! Gonna be including all UV's statistics from now on. Really disappointed with myself that I wasn't able to squeeze in a post today either. Going to set aside a two hour "Leave me the hell alone, I'm working" time tomorrow.

I see what you're saying here but if you aren't getting any sales out of your UV, is there any reason to keep working towards getting it? Why bother to waste time for traffic that never converts when you can be spending time to get traffic that does?

What the niche mate no sales yet is adsence added?

Hello to everyone once again. I haven't been active on the forum at all but I've been reading damn near every day. Today I'm proposing my journey to earn $50 a day through passive income.

Before I continue, I just want to mention two things.

1) I am in this for the long run. No shortcuts, no get rich quick schemes. This is all going to come down to very hard work daily.

2) This journey began about a week ago officially but I'm creating this thread for advice, motivating others, and motivating myself. My inspiration for starting came from Dayloco's thread "Dayloco's Journey To $40 Per Day Passive Income".

Let's begin.

I bought a domain about two weeks ago from Namecheap along with a hosting package. Since those two weeks I have been able to construct a fully desktop/mobile optimized website with WordPress. I bought a premium theme called MH-Magazine about a year ago and managed to recover those files and apply them to this site.

So far the site is very well SEO optimized. I use the Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress which tells me both the friendliness of the SEO and the readability. Every article I have written so far have gotten the green light in both of those categories. I have already written 6 1000+ words articles, each full of images, interlinking, and linking my products (Amazon affiliate).

Moving on to my niche. My niche contains only high end products, nothing below $500. The keywords that I will be using have a nice search to saturation value (About 50k searches and only 5mil results up on Google).

That is about everything done already, here are my plans.

- 1 article written per day. Takes me about two hours to write, find images, and get links all done.
- 30 minutes of building backlinks per day after writing said article.

Although the list is small, make no mistake that a 1000 word article per day is a tedious process. Wish me luck whoever cares or even better yet, advice on how to do this better.

Till the next update everyone!

Best of luck buddy, I look forward to following along with you further :)

Are you solely relying on organic traffic or will there be any paid traffic used in the future?

OP hasn't got anywhere near enough buyer-ready UV's to be looking at sales yet. All of his traffic is from social media, which most of us know, are there for entertainment purposes.

The money will come when he starts getting traffic from search engines. They are the ones with their wallets out and ready to spend, so of course there is an "end-game" with what he is doing. And I definitely hear what you're saying :)

Hello OP, i follow your journey and wish you success. Keep motivated and hang on.
I'm sure that you'd reach your goals.

P.S. i also checked daily for updates in Daylocos journey :) and now also in yours.

Varies from peoples own perspective I'd say.
I tend to sprinkle social signals before doing any off page stuff.

Well, technically, social signals are backlinks and thus part of the off page stuff as well.
While I agree with you when you suggested to take it slowly in the beginning, I don't see why a backlink here and there would hurt, as long as it's kept natural.
I personally never had problems with starting to build links right away, it's quality > quantity anyways and quality links rarely hurt your site.

If you really want to make $50 a day passive you need more sites. I don't know your niche but from my experience a decent blog makes about a dollar a day after a few months.

This 100%. I've just started my own journey thread on a new site, and I eventually want it to BE an authority site that people in the niche will go to automatically and reference to each other. This is my ultimate pie in the sky goal.
I've been doing some competitor analysis, and almost all of the sites I want to compete with had poor performance and views to begin with, but with constant and consistent updates with good quality material, they grew a large audience, dominate many keywords, and are rock solid.
That last bit sounds obvious, but I think it's worth pointing out.

Ramble over, good luck OP

Your persistence is quite admirable; I'm not sure if i could stay motivated for a longer timespan under these circumstances. Kudos, op!

Best regards

Best of luck to you on this journey. Will be rooting along for you.
