Ranking an EMD

Hey guys not new to seo but just bought my first emd and its not going very well, right now it is not even in the top 100, I wrote an article on the homepage and thats basically all the promotion I did, what do you recommend I do? FIVERR links? or what?

If you are not new to SEO and you expect 1 pager EMD to rank anywhere and consider buying Fiverr links, then you should wake up very fast mate.

Fiverr links are NO. Don't even consider using any Fiverr links as tier 1 to your money site.

Your EMD might very well be penalised, these were literally raped in the past.

If you are new, which you are, EMDs can get overoptimised very easily when it comes to anchor texts and keyword densities.

1 Article is not enough. Try to put on 50 of them, wait for a few months and then you might rank somewhere.

Do some reading on keyword competition and how to check it properly.

Go and search for some basic link building techniques that still work very well. PBNs, Guest posts and some web 2.0s. Especially guest posts, since you can score those for free.

Also, unless you have money to spend, don't start SEO. That requires a lot of money to be burned, before you learn to pull the ropes.

All in all, spend a few more weeks reading about SEO before you take your next action.

Do also figure out long tails and rank those lower competition long tail kws first while work is ongoing for main emd kw. Also, age of the domain is another issue, ideally 3-6months from the articles I've read.

Really depends on what provider you are using, yeah ill try ranking for some longtails i guess. i just wanted to hear with people of their experience with EMDs

You wanted answer, you got an answer. Funny how people don't like to hear something else than they hoped for. Use Fiverr and get rekt, your call. And ideally, use time machine to go back to 2010, when EMDs actually did something.

This was the last advice I ever gave on this forum. Conspiring newbies, who complain about advice instead of thanking to people for wasting their time. Nah, not worth my time.

There's too much risk involved for too little gain when compared to brandable domain. You get some really slight boost possibly, sure, but nothing compared to what it was a few years ago. I have never said they are unrankable. They are as rankable as any other domain, but is that boost worthy of easy overoptimisation or possibly some really crappy history that will prevent you from ranking (seen this way too many times actually, most EMDs were abused in the past)? In my opinion it isn't. Then again, comes down to personal preference.

I confirm that I ranked several websites all with an EMD, in a relatively short time. But, on many of them, soon or later I always get a penalty and my ranking drops. Sometimes after 6 months, sometimes after 1 year or a little more.

So my question is: what is the proper anchor text profile you use for EMD sites?

What is the anchor text ratio of exact kws on the backlinks pointing to those penalized domains of yours? And the kw density on your content (both things work together)?

What Nargil is saying is that by using an EMD you just added a third factor to take into consideration.

A lot of people use EMD to rank for a specific keyword, I try to use the partial EMD to rank for multiple terms, if my overall topic is "flower", the domain would be called "www.flowerninja.com", all the pages in your website are going to benefit of the keyword on the domain, something that small could be a difference of 3 or 4 higher traffic later on.

The biggest mistake that I see with EMD is sending a link with the keyword right away in your first link, "bluecars.com" first link anchor = blue cars, I usually send 7 or 8 links wihting the first 45 days just with the brand itself "bluecars.com, www.bluecars.com, http://www.bluecars.com" etc... before the first exact match anchor.

EMD's work great for reputation management and peoples names. For businesses and products they don't have nearly the punch they used to.

What does your overall anchor text ratio look like percentage wise for EMDs? For example is it 60% brand, 20%naked 10% other 10% money (making up numbers as an example)
I've been trying to rank an EMD amazon review site since February with no luck.. what I did was use the site's fictitious author's name as the anchor text and killed it with blog comment backlinks. I think the reason why its not ranking is because I messed up anchor text ratios

Not being new and being knowledgeable are 2 different things, to be fair. Someone could be pounding bad ideas for years(like my dating life) so they wouldn't be new, but completely unknowledgeable.
