Good warning for those that are looking to get into this. Lifetime is much better than monthly if you're looking to do this long term.

yeah...
still trying to sell my "life time" licenses from the mass planner upgrades and no one wants them.
I dont know why!

I don't mind paying more for better support, recently their support suck.

Hi, if they want to improve service, and they are charging existing clients for it. They are already a step in the wrong foot. I sure remember the first time I signed up, it was for a lifetime support, lifetime license and lifetime of software updates. So now that they are imposing this not only on new clients but existing ones. I am really dissed off. I felt misrepresented and did not get what I paid for. If it's for an additional service, I sure as hell won't pay for it, their service is atrocious. I am happy with what I have now. Not sure about you. Sorry for the rant, but feel this is crap!

LOL! Make a product, sell it for $100 and tell everyone it's lifetime, wait a while and then turn it into a monthly subscription = most unethical dickmove ever :D

Good that i didn't bother buying FL..

I was saving up for FollowLiker.
After this new model, I'd rather buy another bot/ service. There are numerous bots and numerous upcoming like the GMT 2.

Would the fact that they are going monthly suggest they are worried they might be shut down and don't want a lot of potentially unhappy people buying lifetime licenses? Just a thought..

Hope they just realized they are going to lose out on new customers now as we can already see from this thread and that they'll need to sell around 2 years worth of support to previous users to make up for any new lost license :)

I feel being held ransom

@ founder of followliker (I know you're around here)

I can imagine staying always updated and struggling with IG algos and implementation is time intensive and ain't easy.
If you want to grow and implement better service for your users, you have to spend money but not on the back of the center core of your biz.... your customers.
It's kind of a scam move, especially when no one comes up with a proper explanation.

good luck followliker, but you will lose a lot of users with that strategy

Will this be optional choice if you have the life time license? The monthly fee I mean

Reply from FL helpdesk:

Hello,

Payment for licenses is still one-time.

The subscription plan will start in September and not now.

We had no better option than to start charging for support. The other option was to shutdown like the other competitors which will be a bad decision, considering the number of people whose businesses depend on FollowLiker and the promises we have made to all users.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Can we have BHW marketplace moderators step into this situation? After all, we've paid for *lifetime* license.

Is this practice even allowed? One of the main reasons I paid for fl was because it was advertised to be *lifetime* license minus monthly fees.

Why not start charging monthly fee for new customers? Why screw the old loyal customers?

Wish u could pay $5 per month and get premium support. I have never contacted support so wish I didn't have to pay for support aswell

The worse is they use a noreply

Basically forcing you to close a ticket and start another one.

Its ironical that I have to pay more for support like that but in actual fact they are running underwater and making clients pay for their mistake.

How can I be sure that they will not shut down a few months later after you have paid the monthly subscription.

This many bollocks in one support reply.

Their competitors were forced to shut down by FB/IG, they didn't shut down on their own. It has nothing with their support either.
It's FL's issue, if they can't handle the support and need to employ more people. It should be coming out of their own pockets. If they don't make enough profit, tough luck.

If you pay for something as a one time payment (pay attention, they don't mention anywhere the "lifetime license" term, but they do mention "one time payment"), then they don't have the right to charge a monthly fee later. Not even for support, because the 24/7 support was originally included in the one time payment.

Funnily enough the support guy is talking about promises, what's with their original "one time payment 24/7 support included" promise then?! :)

They could have just raised the price for new customers, or figure out a kick-ass new function, which could that's what they can do at any point, but charging a monthly fee for those who bought the software with one time payment, that's what they can't do.

OP's screenshot shows a $4.99 monthly fee, which went up to $5.99 already. What if they decide to raise it even more? Not now, but at a later point.

What if other software owners - who offer lifetime licenses - take this as a precedent and they too start to charge a monthly fee for whatever bullshit reason, because why the fuck not?
This shouldn't be allowed. It's not even the money, it's the principle. The principle of not fucking over your existing, loyal customers.

I'm not involved with FL, but if i were, they would find themselves on the SL by now.
